Job DescriptionSalary: $87,214.40 - $121,103.90 DOE The Organization: The Florence Project was founded in 1989 to respond to a representation crisis for indigent non-citizens detained at the rural Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Detention Center in Florence, Arizona. Through our programs today, we provide services to thousands of adults, youth, and children detained in Eloy, Florence, Phoenix, and Tucson, Arizona on any given day. In 2001, the Florence Project implemented our Integrated Social Services Program, one of the first of its kind in this field. The Florence Project provides high quality legal and social services and supports initiatives for national changes in immigration law and policy. Primary Purpose of the Job: The Mission Engagement Manager is responsible for building strong relationships with donors and facilitating major investments in FIRRPs mission as well as developing and implementing engagement and fundraising strategies to grow revenue and build relationships with current and prospective donors. The Mission Engagement Manager provides comprehensive assistance to the Director of Philanthropy, and Executive Director. Paramount to this position is the ability to work with independence and execute various engagement strategies throughout the year while prioritizing donor relationships. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Cultivated Giving Program: • Designs, documents, and implements a Cultivated Giving Program aligned with FIRRPs Fund Development Plan and calendar., • Manages a portfolio of leadership and major donors, identifying, qualifying, cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting relationships to advance FIRRPs mission and funding priorities., • Ensures donors receive consistent, personalized communication, recognition, and meaningful engagement to deepen their relationship with FIRRP., • Conducts at least 20 meaningful donor interactions per week and holds at least 4 donor meetings a month, with a focus on stewardship and portfolio movement., • Collaborates with the Executive Director and Director of Philanthropy, Development Team, board and volunteers to advance donor engagement and fundraising goals virtually, and with in-person meetings., • Cultivates a deep understanding and commitment to the needs of immigrants and the day-to-day work of FIRRP staff, as well as an ability to share sensitive stories and accurate information with donors., • Maintains the highest ethical standards; demonstrates empathy, perseverance, optimism and a genuine want to connect with people., • Able to write compelling donor reports, conduct prospective research, maintain timely records, and prepare donor briefs Mission Engagement Strategies: • Oversees and adapts donor engagement strategies that invite, renew, and upgrade donors annually with support of the Mission Engagement Associate., • Oversees 4-6 personalized donor events or conversations via zoom, or in person, to further engage donors with support of the Mission Engagement Associate., • Leads committee that executes the Pro Bono Appreciation event, with substantial support from the Mission Engagement Associate., • Oversees Mission Engagement Associates role in planning 4-6 major city visits per year., • Leads annual staff thank-a-thon and FIRRP Alumni Network (FAN) with substantialsupport from Mission Engagement Associate. Legacy Giving Program • Manages the legacy giving program and adjusts program as needed., • Manages relationship with FreeWill and promotes relationship, when appropriate, to our supporters., • Develops a Professional Advisors Council to help grow legacy giving program., • Identifies potential legacy donors and conducts appropriate cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation. Other Duties: • Supervises the Mission Engagement Associate and other staff, as required., • Provides general clerical support when needed., • Answers general phone or email inquiries when needed., • Supports and prepares other staff and volunteers for donor visits. (Director of Philanthropy, Executive Director, Board members, etc.) when needed., • Other duties as required. Minimum Requirements: • Deep commitment to FIRRPs mission and values, especially around access to justice and immigrant rights., • Knowledge of the full donor cycle: identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and reporting., • Demonstrated integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and commitment to high ethical standards., • Self-starter with proven ability to lead multiple projects, meet deadlines, and implement effective systems., • Proactive leader who owns the strategy from planning through execution., • Comfortable serving as a public representative of FIRRPable to speak with confidence, warmth, and clarity about our mission, values, and impact. Someone who enjoys connecting with people., • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills., • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to quickly craft clear, compelling messages quickly and with minimal editing, across a wide range of audiences., • Proficient in Microsoft Office products. Preferred Qualifications: • Supervisory or management experience., • Project management experience., • Experience with Raisers Edge, or similar database., • Experience in all aspects of the gift cycle, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgement, and stewardship of donors., • Experience working with immigration detention issues., • Exceptional understanding of philanthropy as it relates to the not-for-profit organization and a wide and deep knowledge of fundamental disciplines of resource development., • Certified Fundraising Executive Credential (CFRE), • Based in Arizona (Tucson or Phoenix). Phoenix preferred. Working Conditions/Physical Demands: • Operate in a professional office environment and requires the ability to sit for long periods of time with intermittent walking, standing, bending, squatting, pulling and pushing., • Ability to use standard office equipment such as scanners, computers, keyboards, phones, shredders, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Salary is competitive for our field and geographical area.
