JOB SUMMARY: At Lymphedema Therapy Specialists, Inc. (LTS), the Nurse Practitioner (NP) serves as a vital clinical provider, helping to fulfill our mission to serve our patients and one another with excellence, compassion, and integrity. This role combines advanced clinical practice with collaborative leadership to support comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals affected by lymphedema and related conditions. The Nurse Practitioner delivers high-quality medical care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management, working closely with the Medical Director(s), therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated care. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide advanced clinical care to patients with lymphedema and related conditions through comprehensive health assessments, medical histories, physical examinations, diagnosis, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions.Develop, implement, and manage individualized medical treatment plans in collaboration with occupational therapists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practice, patient goals, and regulatory standards.Prescribe medications, therapeutic interventions, durable medical equipment, and diagnostic testing within scope of practice and state regulations; monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust plans as clinically indicated.Deliver compassionate, patient-centered lymphedema care, integrating medical management with therapeutic approaches such as compression therapy oversight, skin integrity and wound care management, infection prevention, and coordination of therapeutic exercise and manual lymphatic interventions performed by therapy staff.Educate patients and caregivers on disease processes, treatment options, medications, self-management strategies, lifestyle modifications, and prevention of complications, empowering patients to actively participate in their care.Monitor patient progress through follow-up visits, clinical evaluations, and review of therapy outcomes; communicate changes in condition and care plans with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, holistic care.Identify, assess, and manage complications associated with lymphedema, including infections, wounds, pain, mobility limitations, and comorbid conditions; initiate timely referrals to specialists as needed.Ensure safe, high-quality care delivery by adhering to clinical standards, infection control practices, and patient safety protocols; participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, including assessments, diagnoses, orders, progress notes, care coordination documentation, and discharge planning.Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, state and federal practice standards, and organizational policies to protect patient confidentiality and uphold ethical practice.Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and administrative team members to support continuity of care, operational efficiency, and effective clinic workflows.Serve as a clinical resource and consultant to therapy staff, offering guidance related to medical considerations, contraindications, and integration of medical and therapeutic treatment plans.Participate in audits, inspections, peer reviews, and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.Address and resolve patient or caregiver concerns in a timely, professional manner, utilizing appropriate clinical judgment and escalation pathways when necessary.Stay current with research, emerging technologies, and best practices in lymphedema management and occupational therapy.Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in clinical practices, workflows, and patient outcomes through quality improvement initiatives.Maintain professional licensure and certifications; participate in required continuing education and skills competency assessments.Demonstrate alignment with the spiritual mission of LTS by modeling compassion, service, humility, and excellence in every interaction.Execute various tasks, as assigned by your manager, supervisor, or company officer, whether within your standard duties or as requested beyond regular responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Licensure:Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited nurse practitioner program.Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas, in good standing with the applicable state licensing board.Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.Eligibility to prescribe medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with state and federal regulations (DEA registration if applicable).Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal regulations governing advanced practice nursing, including scope of practice, documentation standards, and prescribing requirements.Ongoing commitment to continuing education and professional development to maintain licensure, certification, and clinical competency.All required certifications must be active and verified prior to providing independent patient care. Work Experience:Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred, with demonstrated competence in assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients across the lifespan or within a specialty area. Prior experience in outpatient, specialty clinic, rehabilitation, wound care, vascular, oncology, or lymphedema-related settings strongly preferred. Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) credential or substantial hands-on lymphedema therapy experience is a plus. Skills:Strong ability to collaborate within interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care in alignment with clinical goals and organizational values.Advanced clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, with demonstrated ability to manage chronic conditions, monitor patient progress, and independently develop and adjust individualized care plans based on outcomes and evidence-based practice.Proficiency in patient and caregiver education, including instruction on disease processes, medications, self-management strategies, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care.Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical documentation standards.Experience with electronic health records (EHR); prior use of AdvancedMD is a plus.Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, and adjust patient care plans effectively and independently.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to effectively communicate with patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams.Proven organizational, time management, and prioritization skills, enabling effective performance in a fast-paced clinical environment while managing multiple responsibilities.Ability to work independently while also leading, supporting, and collaborating with clinical staff to promote a positive, mission-driven team culture.Ability to adapt to changing schedules, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a high level of professionalism under pressure.Eagerness for continual learning and professional development.Alignment with the mission, vision, and core values of LTS, including integrity, service, and excellence. Physical Requirements:This position is in a clinical outpatient setting, focused on delivering specialized care to patients with lymphedema and related conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally to frequently.Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods of time while providing patient care and performing clinical duties.Ability to sit for prolonged periods to complete documentation, review medical records, and conduct patient consultations.Ability to perform physical examinations, including bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and positioning patients as needed for assessment and treatment.Ability to lift, push, pull, and transfer equipment or supplies weighing up to 25–50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.Sufficient manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate medical equipment, perform clinical procedures, and use computer systems and electronic medical records.Visual acuity (with or without corrective lenses) sufficient to read medical records, medication labels, diagnostic results, and computer screens.Ability to maintain focus, make sound clinical decisions, and respond appropriately in fast-paced or high-pressure clinical situations.Protective personal equipment (PPE) is provided and used in accordance with infection control guidelines.
