Position Overview Davidson Academy is seeking a Christ-following, motivated, organized, detail-oriented, Preschool Director with a passion for providing a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment conducive to learning for Davidson Academy Preschool’s students. The Preschool Director will operate the preschool in accordance with its mission, vision, policies, and procedures and state licensing standards. Responsible for supervising and coordinating quality care for preschool children in a safe and nurturing environment. The Director will be responsible to plan and conduct an effective child development program to meet the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of each child, to maintain high standards of customer service by establishing positive relationships with families; to effectively manage staff, finances, admissions, and operations of the preschool program; and to advocate for the importance of early childhood education in the community. Davidson Academy is an Infant-12th grade Christian private school located in Nashville, TN. Serving a diverse student population from Davidson County, Sumner County, Robertson County and the surrounding counties, we believe in the Biblical-based instruction of preparing our students for college, life, and eternity. Key Responsibilities • Strong leadership and communication skills., • Extensive knowledge of state preschool and childcare licensing regulations., • Knowledge of and adherence to employment laws and compliance of all early education standards for Tennessee., • Strong organizational skills., • Ability to manage expenditures, billing, tuition, and payroll tasks., • Implement management responsibilities to ensure maximum enrollment and cost control., • Build, lead, and inspire staff., • Handle registration, enrollment, and tours., • Maintain confidentiality of child and family information., • Ensure prompt, hygienic childcare routines., • Ensure safety through supervision, space arrangement, equipment maintenance, and emergency drills., • Create a culture of support for staff, families, and children., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Select, hire, train, and evaluate staff., • Attend all preschool events and maintain grounds., • Supervise and support teachers., • Plan curriculum and events with teachers., • Provide and attend training on best practices., • Follow food regulations., • Communicate with parents regularly., • Update Parent Handbook and forms., • Use desktop and mobile devices competently., • Ethical, high morals, and confidentiality., • Independent and team-oriented., • Strong problem-solving and communication skills., • Excellent planning and organizational skills., • Clear criminal background check required., • Physical Ability: Light physical effort; some lifting (10–20 lbs)., • Sensory Requirements: Visual and oral communication., • Environmental Factors: No adverse conditions.
