Job Description Description Under supervision, Direct Support Professionals (DSP) provide services to adults with Developmental Disabilities, Mental Illness, and/or Chemical Dependency at our facilities, ensuring that programs are implemented properly to meet the individual goals of residents. The incumbent will carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with Franklin Martins LLC’s policies and procedures, applicable to federal, state, local standards, guidelines, and regulations as directed by management. Available for shifts on: • Monday's to Friday : 7am to 3pm, • Mondays to Friday: 3pm to 11pm, • Thursday to Saturday: 11pm to 7am, • Every weekend: 3:00 PM to 11:00PM minimum, • Must be open to picking up additional shifts when needed. Requirements: Advocacy • Assist residents with achieving personal goals; work on behalf of residents to overcome barriers., • Provide care and assistance to promote good health; help residents receive medical care and communicate with medical professionals., • Administer medications according to physicians’ instructions; record information regarding health events, conditions, and status., • Help residents with eating, grooming, dressing, bathing, and toileting., • Help residents develop living skills such as cooking, money management, household shopping, doing laundry, personal hygiene, etc., • Teach work-related skills and job preparedness; support residents in job search process and maintaining job performance., • Serve as role model and mentor, demonstrate the desired behaviors, and coach the residents using approved techniques and strategies., • Maintain cleanliness of program., • Drive company vehicle to transport residents to their activities., • Complete tasks that are beyond the resident’s abilities., • Act in a professional manner and communicate effectively with others., • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. While performing the responsibilities of the Direct Support Professional job, the incumbent is required to talk and hear. The incumbent is often required to sit and use his or her hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The incumbent is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work Environment: • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate., • The incumbent may be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, employees, family members and the general public; maybe subject to physically aggressive residents., • High School Diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.), or equivalent required, • Must have legal status to work in the U.S., • 1-3 years’ experience as a DSP, PCA, or HHA working with persons with Developmental Disabilities, Mental Illness, and/or Chemical Dependency., • Must be able to complete Franklin Martins LLC’s training programs and successfully pass associated tests to meet competency requirements to administer medication.Company DescriptionAt Franklin Martins assisted living facility, we are committed to creating a warm, supportive, and fulfilling environment for both our residents and our team members.
