Job Description Job Description Title: Sales and Account Coordinator Department: Sales and Marketing Reports to: VP of Sales & Marketing Direct Reports: N/A Exemption Status: Exempt Location: Main Office - 5323 Lakeland Avenue N, Minneapolis, MN Summary BGD Companies is a custom furniture manufacturer serving commercial and hospitality environments. The Account Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the sales process by managing quoting, pricing coordination, and pre-sale project workflows. This position sits at the intersection of Sales, Project Management, Design, and Production, helping ensure opportunities move efficiently from initial concept through quoting and into execution. The role is both detail-oriented and collaborative, requiring someone who can manage multiple moving pieces while also communicating effectively across teams. While this position will not initially be responsible for owning client relationships, it includes exposure to customer interactions and in-person support, with a clear path for growth into a more client-facing role over time. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. What Success Looks Like Within 12 to 18 months, this role will: • Consistently deliver accurate and timely quotes, • Improve quote turnaround times and responsiveness to Sales, • Support effective pre-sale coordination, including samples, pricing, and documentation, • Develop the ability to identify gaps in scope and ask clarifying questions, • Build strong internal relationships with Sales, Project Management, and Production, • Become a reliable partner in moving opportunities forward, • Maintain high accuracy across systems and documentation Key Responsibilities Pre-Sales & Quoting Support • Prepare and manage project quotes, including pricing coordination with internal teams and vendors, • Support the development of project materials such as sample packages and customer-facing selections, • Assist in gathering and organizing project details, specifications, and scope information, • Work with Sales to identify missing information and help clarify project requirements, • Follow up internally on open quotes and pending inputs to ensure timely delivery Project Coordination • Execute accurate order entry and maintain detailed project documentation, • Support revisions, pricing updates, and change orders as needed, • Coordinate with Design, Production, and Project Management to ensure alignment, • Track project-related data and maintain up-to-date records across systems Internal & External Collaboration • Partner closely with Sales and Project Management to support active opportunities, • Participate in customer-facing activities alongside Sales leadership (e.g., sample delivery, meetings, events), • Communicate clearly with internal teams regarding updates, risks, or missing information Marketing Support (Light), • Assist with social media updates and customer communications (e.g., newsletters), • Support basic marketing initiatives as needed (~10% of role) Required Skills & Experience Must Haves: • 1–4 years of experience in a coordination, sales support, estimating, or customer-facing role, • Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and maintain accuracy in pricing and documentation, • Effective communicator who is comfortable collaborating with teams and asking questions to clarify scope and requirements, • Proactive and self-driven, able to follow up, identify gaps, and keep opportunities moving forward in a fast-paced environment, • Comfort with tools and systems, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and the ability to learn CRM/ERP platforms Nice to Have: • Experience with quoting, estimating, or pricing in a custom or project-based environment, • Exposure to manufacturing, furniture, millwork, construction, or commercial interiors, • Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders (sales, design, operations, vendors, etc.), • Familiarity with reading basic drawings, specs, or project documentation, • Exposure to CRM, ERP, or order management systems (e.g., SAGE or similar), • Interest in developing into a full-time client-facing or sales-oriented role over time Additional Information: Working Style & Culture Fit • Organized and detail-oriented, without being overly rigid, • Proactive and willing to ask questions to move work forward, • Strong communicator, comfortable interacting with both internal teams and customers, • Collaborative, team-first mindset, • Positive, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment, • Interested in growing into a more client-facing or sales-oriented role over time This Role is a Great Fit If You: • Enjoy supporting the sales process and helping move projects forward, • Like balancing detailed work with collaborative, people-facing interactions, • Are early in your career and interested in growing into sales or account management, • Take pride in being reliable, organized, and responsive, • Are comfortable working across multiple teams in a dynamic environment Physical Demands To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Position requires frequent visits to the production floor, project sites, sales and independent sales locations, and customers visits. Work Environment The work environment for this position is primarily in an office and factory setting. As BGD Companies is a manufacturer of furniture, the candidate could also be exposed to dust, various temperatures, fumes and loud noise. Due to occasional time spent on the manufacturing floor, the candidate must be able to tolerate some exposure to these workplace characteristics. Travel Travel up to 10%.
