Job Description Resident Assistant (RA) Southern Oaks Place – Blaine, MN Southern Oaks Place is seeking caring and dependable Resident Assistants (RA) to join our team and support residents with daily living needs while promoting dignity, comfort, and meaningful engagement. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping others, building relationships, and working in a supportive senior living environment. As a Resident Assistant, you will provide hands-on care and assist with daily activities while working closely with nursing leadership and fellow team members to ensure residents feel safe, respected, and valued. POSITION SUMMARY The Resident Assistant provides direct personal care and support to residents according to individualized care plans and delegated nursing tasks. This position focuses on assisting residents with activities of daily living, engagement, and safety while maintaining a respectful and compassionate approach. This role does not include medication administration. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Resident Care & Daily Living • Assist residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, hygiene, meals, and incontinence care, • Support safe transfers and proper positioning using trained techniques and equipment, • Encourage participation in social and recreational activities, • Assist residents in attending activities and community events, • Provide one-on-one engagement for residents who cannot join group activities, • Complete required documentation for care tasks and observations, • Communicate changes in resident condition or safety concerns promptly, • Follow individualized care plans and delegated nursing instructions, • Perform tasks only within assigned scope and training, • Perform light housekeeping such as making beds and tidying resident rooms, • Complete resident laundry as assigned, • Follow infection control, safety, and emergency procedures, • Maintain resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times, • Observe and report changes in condition, appetite, mobility, or skin integrity, • Interact respectfully with residents, families, and coworkers, • Maintain professional appearance and behavior, • Complete required training and competencies, • Participate in meetings and ongoing education, • Promote a positive and supportive team culture QUALIFICATIONS Required: • Ability to provide hands-on personal care and support, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, • Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and care teams, • Ability to use electronic documentation systems, • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled, • Ability to meet physical demands of the role (standing, walking, lifting up to 75 lbs), • Experience in senior living, assisted living, memory care, or long-term care, • Experience with electronic health records or care documentation systems, • Experience working with individuals with cognitive impairment or dementia WORK ENVIRONMENT • Resident-centered senior living community, • Indoor care and shared community spaces, • Moderate noise and activity levels, • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and bodily fluids may occur, • On-site work with rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays WHY JOIN OUR TEAM? • Meaningful work making a difference in residents' lives, • Supportive and collaborative team environment, • Training and growth opportunities, • A role where compassion and teamwork are valued, • Opportunity to build strong relationships with residents and families READY TO APPLY?
