Position Summary The Plumbing Apprentice works on a team under supervision to execute new construction projects, primarily for commercial spaces, while demonstrating the company's core values. Accountabilities: · Installation o Provide quality installation · Safety o Observe and implement safe work practices and OSHA Guidelines o Demonstrate safe work behaviors · Teamwork o Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, foreman and project manager · Quality Control o Adhere to all Federal, State, and local codes and regulations Knowledge and Skill Requirements: · Knowledge of the Kentucky State Plumbing Code, OSHA guidelines, and safe work practices · Possess effective verbal and written communication skills · Strong mechanical aptitude · Ability to distinguish between various plumbing equipment and components · Ability to follow instructions and work independently or within a team · Ability to work on weekends, at night, or to work overtime as required Trade Skills · Ability to dig a trench and read a site level; operate boom & scissor lifts; knows basic plumbing fittings and tools; read a tape measure and level; install underground pipe with proper fall and pipe bedding; install riser clamps and other hangers; use Pex tools and solder; set toilets and wall hung lavatories; operate a quickie saw & band saw; insolate water lines/ roof drains and make them presentable · Install WH, MS, and other finish fixtures; install gas pipe and make it presentable; install underground system with proper fall and pipe bedding; install rough in vent and water pipe per KY code; adhere to plumbing code and fixture units; read blueprints and scale drawings · Complete look ahead; operate boom & scissor lifts and excavation equipment; pushes safety on jobs and take proper precautions; install gas pipe and make it presentable; install underground system with proper fall and pipe bedding; install rough in vent and water pipe per KY code; keep jobs, truck, and tools in a presentable condition Essential Duties • Install plumbing equipment following applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and company policies, • Provide necessary support to other team members to be able to complete tasks on time as instructed, • Create and maintain cordial and collaborative working relationships with co-workers, • Ensure all paperwork needed for each job is accurately filled, • Comfort with working from elevated platform mobile equipment, • Managing activities of the project at job sites, • Maintain maintenance records as required by company, city, state, and EPA regulations, • Assess a problem and provide a solution or communicate with the project foreman, • Installing plumbing systems in new build, renovation projects, tenant finish, service, etc, • Operate a variety of hand and power tools and test equipment utilized in the trade, • Display professional company image, • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions during all seasons, • Must be able to lift 70 lbs safely, • Must be able to climb, stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, or/and kneel continually, • Must be able to remain in a standing position 80% of the time Qualities: · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required (oral, written, and presentation) · Creative problem solver with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail skills. · Works well in a team-oriented environment · Strong work ethic with a high amount of personal ownership of their work. · Ability to take the initiative and have a proactive approach to solving problems with minimal supervision · Enjoys a fast-paced and frequently changing environment, able to be responsive to multiple details and multiple tasks while minimizing errors · Organized in the approach of work execution and handling multiple tasks effectively Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: . 1 Year of experience · Possession of valid driver’s license with a good record of driving · High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. · Knowledgeable about OSHA guidelines Benefits • Competitive wages, • Paid overtime, • Paid holidays, • PTO, • Employer-paid Health insurance, dental insurance, and life insurance, • Tuition reimbursement, • 401K
