Job Description Residential Manager of Group Homes Location: Fort Wayne, IN, USA Hourly Rate: $52.748 - $71,392 Type: Full-Time Job Summary: The Residential Manager is responsible for the operational oversight, staffing stability, and leadership of a group of assigned homes. This role ensures House Supervisors effectively manage their homes while maintaining consistency, accountability, and proactive problem-solving across the team. The Residential Manager drives operational performance, supports workforce stability, and ensures alignment with organizational expectations and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Supervisor Leadership & Oversight • Supervise and support assigned House Supervisors across multiple homes, • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, performance discussions, and coaching sessions, • Provide ongoing leadership development, guidance, and feedback, • Address supervisor performance concerns promptly and effectively, • Ensure supervisors meet expectations related to home operations and staff management, • Hold supervisors accountable for performance, outcomes, and overall home stability, • Review and monitor staffing schedules across assigned homes, • Identify staffing gaps proactively, including PTO, vacancies, and coverage risks, • Monitor attendance patterns, call-offs, and overtime trends, • Ensure supervisors are effectively managing staffing within their homes, • Support staffing strategies and solutions without assuming routine direct coverage responsibilities, • Escalate workforce concerns early to prevent operational disruption, • Ensure consistent and effective operations across all assigned homes, • Conduct routine home visits, walkthroughs, and observational assessments to evaluate performance and conditions, • Monitor environmental standards, safety, organization, and overall home presentation, • Ensure adherence to all agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, • Identify operational gaps, inconsistencies, or risks and implement corrective actions, • Reinforce expectations for daily routines, task completion, and overall home management, • Oversee incident reporting practices, ensuring timely, accurate documentation and appropriate follow-up in accordance with agency and regulatory standards., • Ensure timely escalation of incidents, concerns, and risks in accordance with agency protocols, • Monitor trends in incidents, staffing, and operational performance and address patterns proactively, • Support overall home stability by maintaining structure, consistency, and accountability across locations, • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and leadership to address compliance concerns and implement improvements, • Support readiness for state surveys, audits, and regulatory reviews, including participation as needed and ensuring implementation and follow-through on Plans of Correction to maintain ongoing compliance., • Respond to operational challenges escalated by House Supervisors, • Identify early indicators of instability and intervene proactively, • Support supervisors in resolving complex staffing, operational, or team issues, • Stabilize homes experiencing performance or workforce challenges, • Coordinate response efforts during high-risk or urgent situations, • Promote a professional, accountable, and positive work environment, • Monitor team morale, engagement, and overall workforce health, • Support retention efforts and workforce stability initiatives, • Encourage ownership, accountability, and leadership among supervisors, • Address team dynamics, conflict, and culture-related concerns, • Maintain consistent and effective communication with House Supervisors, • Coordinate with QIDPs regarding service delivery needs and concerns, • Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Nursing, QA, Maintenance) to support operational and compliance needs, • Provide updates, insights, and operational feedback to the Director, • Ensure expectations are clearly communicated, understood, and reinforced, • Facilitate alignment across homes, teams, and leadership Qualifications & Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field required, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in ID/IDD residential services in lieu of a degree · Minimum of 3 years of experience in ID/IDD residential services required · Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience required · Strong knowledge of residential operations, staffing management, and regulatory expectations for long-term care or ID/IDD settings · Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and support operational stability · Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills · Ability to manage multiple homes and teams simultaneously Work Environment/Conditions: · Primarily Monday through Friday, with availability for evenings and weekends based on operational needs. · Participation in an on-call sponsorship rotation may be required based on operational needs. · Combination of administrative and field-based work, with regular presence required across assigned residential homes. · Regular travel between assigned residential homes required. · Requires responsiveness to operational and staffing needs in a dynamic, fast-paced environment · This role is not responsible for routine direct care coverage but may provide support as needed based on operational demands Physical Requirement: · Ability to travel between multiple residential locations · Ability to lift, transfer, or assist individuals and/or equipment up to 50 pounds as needed · Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout residential environments for extended periods · Ability to observe and assess home
