Voted as a best workplace in Washington and Portland for several consecutive years, Thrive builds on its culture by offering the following benefits: • Unlimited Vacation Time, • Accrued Sick Leave, • Employer matched 401k retirement plan, • Paid Holidays (New Year’s Day, President's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve ½ day), • Paid Birthday, Personal Day, and Day of Service, • $0 premium medical, dental, and vision insurance effective 1st of the month following your start date, • Fully covered Long-term disability insurance for associates, • Fully covered life insurance policy for associates plus supplemental life insurance options, • 24/7 Everyday Assistance Program (EAP), • Voluntary Critical Illness, Accident, Hospital Indemnity, and Short-term Disability insurance, • Pet Insurance discounts, • Parking & Transit Commuter Benefits FSA, • Dependent Care FSA, • Annual professional development reimbursement, • Training opportunities and career progression/growth plans, • Oversee and provide strategic direction for all property-level accounting functions and general ledger maintenance, including leading and developing all property accounting managers and portfolio accountants., • Oversee the operations of the property accounting department, ensuring the organizational structure, resources, and workflows effectively support departmental goals and objectives., • Evaluate and enhance procedures and processes for efficiency, effectiveness, and adherence to GAAP., • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual property financial statements and variance reports, providing insights into financial performance and trends., • Partner with Regional Directors and Managers to develop and manage property budgets, forecasts, and financial projections., • Review and approve property-level financial reports and reconciliations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures., • Ensure supervised teams are maintaining reconciliations for balance sheets & bank accounts, including raising awareness for health of balance sheet., • Provide professional and proactive financial communication and service to clients and internal stakeholders., • Monitor cash flow and financial health of each property, identifying opportunities for improving financial performance and reducing costs., • Assist in the preparation of annual audits and tax filings, working closely with external auditors and tax advisors., • Provide ongoing development, training, and guidance to Accounting Managers and other staff on financial processes and best practices, including benchmarking departmental strengths., • Collaborate with the Senior VP of Accounting, Director of Corporate Accounting, accounting leadership, and other departments to support company-wide financial initiatives and reporting., • Perform other duties as assigned by manager. Desired Skills & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred., • Previous experience managing and leading accounting team members., • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience within the real estate or property management industry., • Strong understanding of property-level accounting and financial reporting., • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for multiple properties., • Proficiency in property management accounting software, Yardi preferred, and Microsoft Office Suite., • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with property managers and other stakeholders., • Has demonstrated the ability to grow and develop people., • Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Ability to effectively delegate tasks to accomplish department goals., • Has well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to establish highly functional relationships with diverse personalities and backgrounds., • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer., • Hybrid work environment in an open floor plan.
