Job Description The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing processes of composite materials. This position entails managing a team of technicians ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations. The supervisor is pivotal in coordinating between various departments, optimizing production processes, and implementing continuous improvement strategies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Supervise the daily activities of the production team, assigning tasks, and setting production targets aligned with lean manufacturing pinciples., • Monitor and evaluate process parameters to ensure quality and consistency in manufacturing processes., • Promote a culture of safety, ensuring all team members are following safety protocols and using personal protective equipment appropriately., • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles, including SS, Kaizen, JIT, etc., to maximize productivity and minimize waste., • Develop, implement, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes., • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that products meet all technical specifications and aerospace industry standards., • Coordinate with other departments, such as Design and Engineering, to address any potential production issues., • Conduct staff training to ensure all team members understand and can effectively follow SOPs and lean manufacturing principles., • Regularly review and assess team performance, providing constructive feedback, and implementing improvement measures as needed., • Provide regular progress reports to upper management, including information about production metrics, quality assurance, and process improvement efforts. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: • Extensive experience in composites manufacturing processes and techniques., • Experience and familiarity with ERP systems. Global Shop Enterprise highly desirable., • Demonstrated success in all functional areas within a fast-paced, technically focused manufacturing growth environment is essential. Must be hands on capable of effective project management and implementing tactics to drive Company initiatives in a time sensitive manner., • Must be results-oriented and demonstrate strategic thinking, innovation, flexibility in dealing with changing and ambiguous situations., • Demonstrate outstanding organizational, communication, and management skills, and a rigorous attention to detail., • Ability to effectively demonstrate business skills and lead multiple projects. Thorough knowledge of industry practices and the marketplace associated with fielded products or service. COMPETENCIES: • Technical Expertise - Must possess a robust understanding of composite material production, specifically in the aerospace and defense sector. This includes staying abreast of the latest technological advancements, industry standards, and manufacturing techniques. The role requires the application of this knowledge to continually enhance production processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and innovation., • Team Collaboration- Demonstrate excellent team collaboration skills, fostering a cooperative and productive work environment. This involves building strong relationships within the team and across departments, effective communication, and the ability to lead and participate in joint projects. The goal is to align team efforts with organizational objectives, promoting a culture of mutual support and shared success., • Initiative/Problem Solving - Must be willing to identify existing or potential problem areas. Expected to determine, evaluate, and suggest appropriate courses of action and implement effective solutions. Interested in seeking ways to improve processes. Weigh the consequences before making a final decision. Recognize issues and determine actions needed to advance the decision-making processes., • Continuous Improvement-Actively participates in lean manufacturing initiatives such as 55, Kaizen Events, RCCA, and Value Stream Analysis. Demonstrates enthusiasm and positivity for improving processes and their work environment. Initiates improvement without the need for constant supervision. EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience: 5+ years in a supervisory role. • Project management experience preferred., • Preferred specific composites and aerospace industry experience.
