We are currently seeking an Shopify POS Technical Product Specialist to be responsible for leading end-to-end Shopify Retail POS implementation projects, owning configuration, integration(s), data migration, and rollout execution ensuring successful store launches and stable operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Shopify POS Ownership & Strategy • Serve as the end-to-end owner of the Shopify POS platform, including configuration, roadmap prioritization, enhancements, and support., • Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications for Shopify POS features and integrations., • Document functional blueprint designs, test cases, and results., • Lead new store openings, POS conversions, pilots, and major enhancements from discovery through go-live and post-launch stabilization., • Configure Shopify POS features including: Payments and tenders; Hardware and device setup; Receipt content across print; SMS, and email channels; Tax; discounts, promotions, and gift cards; and User roles and permissions., • Act as the primary liaison between Shopify POS and connected systems (e.g., ERP, finance, inventory, OMS, reporting, payments)., • Partner with internal technical teams and third-party vendors to design, test, and maintain integrations., • Collaborate closely with Retail Operations to ensure POS functionality supports real-world store workflows., • Partner with Finance and Accounting on payments, reconciliation, tax handling, and audit requirements., • Work with Supply Chain and Inventory teams on inventory accuracy, movements, and reporting impacts., • Gather feedback from store teams and business stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities., • Document processes, configurations, and known issues to support long-term maintainability., • Support POS upgrades, Shopify releases, and new feature adoption. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS Experience, Technology, Knowledge & Education: • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in retail technology, POS systems, or ecommerce platforms., • Extensive experience administering Shopify and Shopify POS, including store/location setup, products, inventory, customers, payments, taxes, staff roles, and day‑to‑day support., • Strong understanding of retail store operations and how workflows map to POS configuration and downstream systems., • Working knowledge of POS/eCommerce integrations with ERP, finance, OMS, and inventory platforms (SAP preferred), including API fundamentals, data flows, and monitoring., • Hands‑on experience with data migrations, reconciliation, payments, tax setup, and audit requirements., • Familiar with POS hardware and device deployment, retail networking basics, and security/access controls., • Proven ability to lead testing and UAT, leverage reporting and Excel for validation and analysis, and deliver projects using standard project, documentation, and release management tools., • Skilled in production support, incident triage, root cause analysis, and cross‑functional vendor collaboration., • Experience supporting multi-store or multi-region retail environments., • Associate degree, bachelor’s preferred but not required, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study Skills & Competencies: • Process-driven; identifies, standardizes, and documents operational workflows and best practices., • Active listener with the ability to understand and map business processes from the end-user perspective., • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables concurrently while consistently meeting deadlines., • Strong sense of urgency with sound judgment for escalation and rapid response., • Maintains composure and professionalism in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations., • Quickly synthesizes complex, ambiguous, and unique business requirements into clear, actionable outcomes., • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause problem-solving skills., • Adaptable and resilient in fast-changing, challenging environments., • Self-directed; prioritizes work, sets goals, and delivers results in an ambiguous, fluctuating environment., • Highly collaborative and relationship-oriented; builds alignment across diverse, cross-functional teams to achieve shared outcomes. Other: • Travel: up to 20% domestic as business needs warrant., • The annual salary range for this role is between $78,000 and $98,000., • The target compensation range and the actual salary are determined by several factors, including specific skills, competencies, years of experience, geographic location, and education, as outlined in the job description., • Full time employees are eligible for company benefits to include medical, prescription, dental, mental health benefits, 401(k) and paid time off (vacation, PSST and paid holidays).
