Job Description The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading and strengthening all core accounting functions at NCM. This role oversees Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, General Accounting, supports Payroll continuity, and owns the month-end close process, including full balance sheet review. The Accounting Manager plays a key role in developing team capabilities, automating processes, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining strong alignment with NCM’s ESOP culture and operational goals. This role is instrumental in establishing accountability, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the accuracy and transparency required for NCM’s multi-division structure. Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Department Oversight • Lead daily operations across AP, AR, Billing, and General Accounting, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant execution of all tasks., • Serve as the primary backup to Payroll, supporting payroll processing and ensuring continuity in partnership with the Senior Payroll Administrator., • Own the month-end close cycle, including the review of all balance sheet accounts and coordination across internal teams., • Mentor and develop accounting team members, fostering growth, cross-training, and professional development., • Create and maintain a positive, collaborative environment that reflects NCM’s values: Team Up, Shine Bright, Reach Higher, Embody the Red Belt.Operational Excellence & Controls, • Establish, monitor, and maintain KPIs for all Accounting functions to ensure process health and performance transparency., • Review and refine accounting processes to drive increased accuracy, efficiency, and automation., • Ensure all accounting functions comply with GAAP, internal control standards, and NCM policies., • Identify operational and financial risks within Accounting workflows and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.Cross-Functional Collaboration, • Partner with internal departments to ensure smooth communication, timely handoffs, and accurate information flows., • Collaborate with FP&A to support divisional reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis needs., • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring audit preparedness and timely responses.Systems & Modernization, • Lead Accounting alignment with modernization initiatives., • Ensure revenue is accurately classified across divisions through proper system setup, record-type selection, and data governance., • Partner with technology teams to enhance system integration, reduce manual work, and support strategic automation across accounting workflows.General Responsibilities, • Maintain strong documentation and training materials to ensure consistency and transparency in all processes., • Provide leadership on special projects, operational redesigns, or cross-functional initiatives as assigned., • Ensure all responsibilities are completed timely and accurately to meet organizational and client commitments. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field., • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role., • Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles., • Experience with FinancialForce/Certinia preferred, but not required., • Demonstrated ability to lead month-end close processes and oversee balance sheet accuracy., • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel., • Strong documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments and organizational levels., • Demonstrated ability to lead in an ESOP culture, promoting transparency, accountability, and shared ownership., • Ability to manage confidential information in accordance with company policies and ethical standards., • Must maintain a valid driver’s license; limited travel may be required.
