Regulatory Affairs Consultant Location Options: Orlando, FL | Greenbelt, MD | Charlotte, NC | Austin, TX Our client, a mission-driven consulting firm focused on broadband and telecommunications, is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Consultant to join their growing Regulatory Services team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on digital inclusion and broadband expansion efforts while advancing your career in a dynamic, client-focused environment. About the Role As a Regulatory Affairs Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting clients as they navigate the complex landscape of federal and state telecommunications regulations. From advising on FCC compliance to leading strategic projects, you’ll be a key contributor to both client success and organizational growth. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving, relationship-building, and delivering results in a fast-paced consulting environment. This is an urgent request, as they need someone to help manage 50-100 clients. Would initially start as contract, but will ultimately convert to a full-time perm role. Preferably Orlando, Greenbelt, Austin or Charlotte but could consider remote for the right person. Ability to stay / grow – some travel to client sites as needed. Key Responsibilities Client & Project Management • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, fostering strong, long-term relationships., • Lead the planning and execution of client projects from start to finish., • Coordinate with internal teams to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions., • Understand client goals and develop regulatory strategies to support them. Regulatory Expertise & Analysis • Provide expert guidance on telecommunications compliance, including FCC and state Public Utility Commission (PUC) regulations., • Conduct detailed research and analysis to address complex regulatory issues., • Support clients with filings, compliance audits, and risk mitigation strategies related to broadband, CLECs, VoIP, MVNOs, and more. Business Development • Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients and attract new ones., • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging challenges., • Represent the firm at industry events (trade shows, webinars, etc.) to strengthen visibility and partnerships. Qualifications Required • 7–15 years of experience in telecommunications regulatory compliance., • Expertise with FCC filings (Forms 477, 499, 481), USF contributions and audits, ETC designations, Section 214 authorizations, CPNI, and related PUC requirements., • Bachelor’s degree., • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment., • Demonstrated project management skills with a focus on collaboration and results., • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SmartSheets, and Adobe Acrobat., • A proactive mindset with a passion for professional growth., • Ability to travel occasionally as needed. Preferred • Background in the telecom industry, a public utility commission, or a telecom consulting firm., • Familiarity with telecom taxation., • Experience in a consulting or billable client-service role.
