Job Description The Maintenance Technician is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, replacing, and modifying all processing, packaging and facility equipment with optimal quality and efficiency. Mechanic C is responsible for maintaining the operational readiness of the FR system using various systems and multiple technical strategies and similar control technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, with expertise in the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of HV/MV electrical equipment and systems. This is a hands-on role that plays a critical part in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a solar power plant's infrastructure. Responsibilities • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HV/MV electrical systems (typically 5kV – 35kV and above)., • Conduct electrical testing of transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, and protective devices., • Perform cable splicing and terminations in accordance with industry standards., • Troubleshoot electrical faults and perform root cause analysis., • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and test results., • Assist in energizing new or repaired systems following strict safety protocols., • Comply with all OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and company safety standards., • Support system upgrades, outages, and emergency repairs as needed. Required: • High school diploma or GED., • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience working with HV/MV systems., • Knowledge of electrical theory, protective relaying, and power system operations., • Proficiency in using electrical test equipment (e.g., Multimeters, Megger, Doble, HiPot, TTR, etc.)., • Technical certificate or associate degree in Electrical Technology or related field., • OSHA 30 certification and NFPA 70E training., • NETA or equivalent testing certification is a plus., • Experience with substation and transmission system maintenance., • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., • Comfortable working in confined spaces, heights, and around energized equipment., • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE including arc flash suits.
