Job DescriptionSalary: Florida Cardiovascular Partners Registered Nurse- Cardiology Full Time, Monday-Friday, 5x8 schedule Position Summary: The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care in a cardiovascular or specialty outpatient setting, supporting patient triage, education, care coordination, and clinical workflow management under the direction of the Office Manager and provider team. This role serves as a clinical resource for patients, providers, and Medical Assistant staff, delivering evidence-based nursing care that supports patient safety, access, and outcomes across the cardiovascular care continuum. The Registered Nurse operates in accordance with applicable state licensure, organizational nursing standards, and the policies and procedures of US Health Partners. Essential Functions Triage & Clinical Assessment • Perform telephone and in-person triage for patients presenting with cardiovascular symptoms, medication concerns, and post-procedure questions, applying clinical judgment to assess acuity and determine appropriate disposition., • Conduct nursing assessments, obtain and document patient health histories, and communicate clinical findings to providers in a timely and accurate manner., • Respond to urgent patient situations within the clinic setting, initiating appropriate clinical interventions and coordinating emergency response as needed., • Communicate triage disposition, clinical recommendations, and follow-up instructions to patients and care team members clearly and professionally., • Document triage interactions, clinical assessments, and provider communications accurately within the electronic health record. Patient Education & Care Coordination • Provide individualized patient education regarding cardiovascular diagnoses, medications, procedures, post-procedure care, lifestyle modifications, and disease management in a clear and patient-centered manner., • Coordinate care transitions including hospital discharges, specialist referrals, post-procedure follow-up, and chronic disease management touchpoints., • Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, and community resources to support patient adherence, access, and continuity of care., • Assist with chronic disease management programs including heart failure, anticoagulation, hypertension, and lipid management as assigned., • Support remote patient monitoring, device clinic, and specialty program workflows as directed by clinical leadership. Medication Management & Clinical Workflows • Administer medications as ordered by providers and within applicable scope, licensure, and organizational policy., • Manage medication refill workflows, prescription routing, and prior authorization support for complex medication regimens as directed., • Monitor and document patient responses to medications, treatments, and interventions within the electronic health record., • Coordinate laboratory result review, provider communication, and patient notification workflows as assigned., • Support clinical inbox management, provider documentation, and care gap closure activities as directed. Team Support & Clinical Leadership • Serve as a clinical resource for Medical Assistant staff regarding patient care questions, escalation pathways, and nursing scope of practice., • Collaborate with clinical and administrative team members to support efficient patient flow, operational continuity, and quality care delivery., • Participate in staff meetings, clinical huddles, competency assessments, and quality improvement initiatives as required., • Support onboarding and orientation of new clinical staff as directed by the Office Manager or Nurse Manager. Documentation & Compliance • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely nursing documentation within the electronic health record in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards., • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, infection prevention standards, state nursing practice act requirements, and organizational policies., • Support quality improvement initiatives, nursing performance metrics, and regulatory compliance activities as directed., • Support other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education Required • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing) required. Experience Preferred • Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience preferred., • Experience in cardiology, cardiovascular, electrophysiology, heart failure, vascular, or ambulatory care settings strongly preferred. Certifications Required • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, in good standing, required., • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Preferred • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred., • Relevant specialty certification (e.g., Cardiac Vascular Nursing Certification, Ambulatory Care Nursing Certification) preferred. Knowledge & Skills • Strong working knowledge of cardiovascular nursing practice, outpatient clinical workflows, and ambulatory care nursing standards., • Demonstrated clinical judgment and triage skills with the ability to assess acuity and communicate effectively with providers., • Proficiency with electronic health records, clinical documentation systems, and standard office software., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deliver patient education and coordinate care across disciplines., • Ability to manage multiple clinical priorities, work independently, and adapt to changing patient and operational demands in a fast-paced environment., • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, state nursing practice act requirements, infection prevention standards, and healthcare compliance requirements., • Commitment to evidence-based nursing practice, patient safety, and continuous professional development. Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical Requirements • Frequent standing and walking throughout the workday., • Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and lift as necessary to support departmental operations., • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently., • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate computers, office equipment, and clinical instruments., • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to perform essential job functions safely and effectively., • Ability to respond quickly to changing patient and operational demands. Work Environment • Primarily works in an outpatient healthcare setting., • Frequent interaction with patients, providers, and healthcare team members., • Requires adherence to infection prevention, safety, and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols as applicable., • May require travel between clinic locations based on operational needs.
