Apply on Linkedin or Indeed: Restaurant Manager Location: National City, CA Type: Full-time, Salaried Compensation: $80,000 annually Position Summary Sessions by the Bay is hiring an experienced Restaurant Manager to support our General Manager in overseeing full restaurant operations, including front-of-house service, kitchen coordination, and overall performance of the business. This role is ideal for a proven restaurant leader with a minimum of 5 years of management experience in a full-service restaurant, who understands both guest experience and the operational systems that drive consistency, efficiency, and profitability. This is not a lounge, nightclub, or bar-only role — we are seeking candidates with true restaurant experience who can operate confidently on the floor while maintaining awareness of kitchen execution, inventory flow, and cost control. You should be someone who can run the shift, lead the team, and keep the operation aligned — from the guest experience to what’s happening behind the line. Candidates must be prepared to work a minimum of 40+ hours per week, with flexibility for 12-hour days when needed, especially on weekends, holidays, and high-volume event days. What Makes You a Fit This role requires someone who is steady, observant, and fully engaged in the operation — someone who takes responsibility for how the room runs, how the team performs, and how the guest experience comes together. • You stay composed and focused, even when the pace picks up, • You recognize issues early and step in before they affect service, • You communicate clearly with both the team and guests — direct, respectful, and effective, • You hold yourself and others accountable to a high standard, • You understand how service, kitchen execution, and timing all connect, • You’re comfortable working across both FOH and BOH to keep things aligned, • You take ownership of details — from service flow to cleanliness to overall presentation, • You approach problems with a solutions-first mindset and handle them in real time, • Overseeing the flow of service and ensuring the dining room operates efficiently throughout each shift, • Maintaining a strong and visible presence on the floor, actively engaging with guests and ensuring a high level of satisfaction, • Supporting the General Manager in executing daily operations and maintaining consistency, • Managing communication between the floor and the kitchen to keep timing and execution on track, • Stepping in quickly to correct issues and keep service moving smoothly, • Reinforcing expectations with the team and ensuring standards are consistently met, • Supporting scheduling, labor awareness, and overall shift performance using 7shifts, • Maintaining awareness of product usage and inventory flow to support cost control, • Using Lightspeed POS to manage service flow, guest notes, and issue resolution, • Managing reservations and pacing through OpenTable, • Ensuring all areas — service stations, dining spaces, and guest touchpoints — are clean and prepared, • Helping maintain the overall feel of the room during service, including pacing, transitions, and guest flow, • Maintain strong alignment between FOH service and kitchen execution, • Monitor labor, manage breaks, and minimize unnecessary overtime, • Support inventory awareness and ordering processes to reduce waste and control costs, • Maintain awareness of key performance metrics including labor cost, guest spend, and overall restaurant performance, and contribute to improving them, • Ensure compliance with food safety, RBS, and cannabis lounge regulations, • Execute nightly closeouts and review shift performance, • Identify inefficiencies in service or operations and work with leadership to improve systems, • Support team performance and retention by addressing issues early, reinforcing expectations, and following through on accountability Qualifications • Minimum 5 years of restaurant management experience in a full-service restaurant, • Strong understanding of both FOH service and BOH/kitchen coordination, • Experience with:, • Inventory awareness and cost control, • Service pacing and kitchen communication, • Proficient with:, • Lightspeed POS, • 7shifts, • OpenTable, • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, • Ability to operate effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, • Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays Certifications (Required or Willing to Obtain) • RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certification, • ServeSafe or California Food Handler certification, • Stand or walk for up to 10–12 hours per shift, • Lift up to 50 lbs; bend, stoop, and move comfortably during service, • Comfortable working in a high-energy, entertainment-driven environment Sessions by the Bay brings together cannabis, dining, entertainment, and atmosphere into a single, high-energy environment.
