This role owns end-to-end business development activities—market positioning, relationship cultivation, lead generation, pipeline management, and deal negotiation—while partnering closely with estimating and operations to convert opportunities into winning proposals and successful projects. Success is measured by the quality and velocity of the pipeline, win performance, and the strength of long-term client and partner relationships. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Identify and pursue opportunities across federal, state, and local government markets, as well as private industry., • Use SAM.gov to identify federal opportunities and ConstructConnect (and/or Dodge platforms) for state, local, and private sector leads., • Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, engineers, owners, developers, and owners’ representatives to position B2 Constructors as a trusted partner., • Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities; engage prospects through structured outreach, follow-up, and relationship management to exceed monthly and quarterly objectives., • Monitor market trends, construction sector developments, regulatory changes, emerging technologies, and project lifecycles to strengthen market positioning., • Engage credibly with industry decision-makers using construction fluency (scope, delivery methods, schedule considerations, and risk factors)., • Maintain active presence in industry networks and groups to expand relationship coverage and uncover early-stage opportunities., • Source and analyze construction and real estate data to identify growth sectors, target accounts, and strategic opportunities., • Present recommendations to senior leadership to align BD strategy with long-term company goals and expansion plans., • Track competitive activity and positioning to inform pursuit strategy and messaging., • Partner closely with the Estimating Manager to ensure clean handoffs from lead identification to bid/no-bid decisions and proposal development., • Collaborate with estimating, project management, and marketing to align client needs with operational capabilities and delivery approaches., • Build and maintain strategic relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners that strengthen pursuit competitiveness and delivery confidence., • Serve as the primary client point of contact during the preconstruction phase and maintain relationship continuity through project completion., • Conduct post-project follow-ups to assess satisfaction, resolve concerns, and identify renewal/expansion opportunities., • Develop and execute BD strategies to achieve growth and revenue targets., • Manage BD budgets to ensure effective use of resources supporting pipeline development and market presence., • Provide regular reporting on pipeline status, activity levels, opportunity health, and progress toward goals., • Manage the company’s social media presence as a BD lever to increase awareness, credibility, and inbound interest., • Partner with marketing to develop materials that support pursuits, client conversations, and differentiation., • Lead negotiations to secure favorable commercial terms aligned with company objectives and risk tolerance., • Ensure legal and finance teams review contracts prior to execution and that terms support profitable delivery., • 5–10 years of experience in the commercial construction industry, including 5+ years in business development or a client-facing growth role., • Demonstrated success generating leads, acquiring new clients, and managing long-term relationships across public and private sectors., • Proven ability to engage and build relationships with architects, engineers, owners, developers, and owners’ representatives., • Experience using SAM.gov and ConstructConnect (or Dodge platforms) to identify and track project opportunities., • Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills; capable of leading client presentations and executive conversations., • Proficiency with CRM systems, bid-tracking platforms, and Microsoft Office., • Strong market research and analytical skills; able to synthesize data into actionable recommendations for leadership., • Construction fluency: understanding of project lifecycles, delivery models, and pursuit best practices., • Ability to assess profit, ROI, and risk tradeoffs for opportunities and advise on pursuit strategy.Preferred Qualifications, • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (preferred, not required with equivalent experience)., • Understanding of government procurement and FAR regulations;
