Job Description Vice President for Enrollment & Marketing (VPEM) The VP for Enrollment and Marketing is the university's strategic point person in increasing traditional undergraduate freshmen and transfer enrollment and support the work with enrollment of new students in the Adult, Graduate extension studies (AGX) division, and retention efforts. Reporting to the President and serving as a member of the President's Cabinet, the VPEM will provide bold, innovative leadership, strategic planning, innovation to development and implementation of the College's strategic enrollment and marketing plan, promoting institution-wide recruitment, and collaborates with faculty, staff, administration, student organizations, and community groups to ensure all students have access to all resources. Oversees leadership in the following areas of service: Traditional Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Accounts and Enrollment Marketing. Description of Key Responsibilities University Leadership • Champion and fulfill the mission of Bethel University, including possessing a demonstrated maturity in the Christian faith (i.e. beyond a profession of faith, the capacity to coach and mentor others), • Personal commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, professional ethics, and a commitment to social justice consistent with Bethel's core values, • Fosters a relational climate for the recruitment process and service models, • Dedicated commitment to partner with the Cabinet, Deans, and shared governance groups in leading the College in a collaborative, strategic and sustainable manner, • Invests in strong talent management of directors and team to maximize creativity, growth, and cutting-edge strategies for maximum net tuition revenue, • Analytical mindset and expertise in highly effective use of data analytics to inform strategies, goals, and decisions; proven record of applying these skills in the assessment cycle, with excellence in monitoring and reporting, • Collaborate with VP for Student Development and Success for various retention strategies, • Strategic leadership and execution of new and creative ideas to fulfill the enrollment goals including academic profile, geographic and cultural diversity, student persistence and on-time graduation, and economic sustainability, • Facilitates and nurtures broad input by engaging with the enrollment and marketing team, campus leadership, and others in the strategic planning and advancement of recruitment efforts, • Regularly assesses strategic recruitment and implementation plan that defines goals, project plans, and key performance indicators, • Use of data analytics to inform strategies and provide training and communication with the enrollment division offices, the President's Cabinet and the Bethel community, • Focused strategic partnership with Academics, Information Technology, Advancement, Public Relations and Communications, and other offices critical to the execution of the enrollment plan, • Form and maintain relationships with vendors/partners who provide expertise and services necessary for student search, application generation, and financial aid modeling when required., • Maintains a healthy and informed relationship with NACCAP (North American Coalition for Christian Admission Professionals)., • Name purchase procurement and vendor management (such as College Board search and other sources) and enrollment management partnerships with appropriate outsourcing assets, • Oversee the University's approximately 25 million financial aid budget and leverage it to achieve enrollment and discount rate targets, • Develop and execute competitive financial aid packages, pricing philosophies, student account management and strategies to achieve enrollment goals in partnership with financial aid leveraging partner, • Oversees the management of student accounts for balancing collection of all student receivables with enrollment objectives, meeting university budget obligations, and adhering to regulations, • Develop comprehensive marketing, advertising, website and social media plans which includes focus on engagement with prospective students, families, schools and other key constituents for the purposes of enrollment, • Initiate and provide account leadership for external partnerships (such as Enrollment Fuel and Caylor) to extend the reach of the team for innovation and execution of marketing initiatives, • Continue to build knowledge and educate the university on higher education market research, development, and growth markets to inform our related strategic and implementation plans, • Develop differentiated, personalized, and "fresh" contemporary multimedia enrollment marketing, communication and messaging strategies, • Candidates for this position should have at least ten years of experience in enrollment management with a proven record of leadership, excellence in execution, and entrepreneurial skills applied to the recruitment and enrollment of students who are well suited to the BethelUniversity mission., • The successful candidate will understand the art and science of enrollment management and be able to demonstrate experience building successful and sustainable enrollment operations., • Highly proficient in utilization of enrollment CRM and enterprise systems, Excel, database management and reporting tools, and other contemporary technology tools, • Highly effective oral and written communication skills for disseminating information to a variety of stakeholders, including prospective students, families, high schools, campus community, trustees, and alumni, • Effective budgeting and financial acumen, • Master's degree (required); Doctorate degree (preferred) About Bethel University The mission of Bethel University, affiliated with the Missionary Church denomination, is to be a community of learners building lives of commitment for leadership in the Church and world.
