Our client based in the Chicago Loop is looking to hire an eDiscovery/Litigation Project Manager to join their team for a Direct Hire position. The role will be hybrid (3 days onsite) at our client's Chicago Loop office. Candidates MUST have experience working with eDiscovery and RelativityOne to be considered and experience working as a Project Manager. The eDiscovery Project Manager provides consulting, technical execution, and day‑to‑day project leadership across the full EDRM lifecycle for litigation and regulatory matters. This role serves as a hands‑on, highly consultative resource for attorneys and clients, advising on best practices for defensible preservation, collection, processing, analysis, review, and production of electronically stored information (ESI). The Project Manager ensures that all technical, procedural, and compliance requirements are met, including adherence to negotiated specifications, chain‑of‑custody standards, and industry‑recognized defensibility protocols. This position also supports the development of departmental best practices, internal training, and continuous process improvements in collaboration with the Director of eDiscovery. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Conduct assessment meetings to understand matter scope, technical requirements, timelines, and budget considerations., • Consult with legal teams, clients, and stakeholders on all aspects of the eDiscovery lifecycle, ensuring defensible execution aligned with legal and regulatory obligations., • Maintain complete documentation and audit trails using the Firm’s eDiscovery project management system., • Assist with collections, process and load data, implement searching and culling strategies, configure review workflows (including active learning and AI), prepare productions, and coordinate final disposition of ESI., • Perform quality control and validation of inbound and outbound data, including images, text, metadata, load files, and exception reports, ensuring full compliance with specifications and procedural requirements., • Provide end‑user training and matter‑specific guidance on RelativityOne, Everchron, and other eDiscovery applications., • Assist with administrative tasks including file transfer checks, tracking logs, and periodic audits., • Maintain accurate timekeeping for client work, Firm initiatives, and administrative activities., • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and forensic resources to ensure defensible, timely, and cost‑effective delivery of services., • Meet all Firm‑specified time entry, documentation, and billing requirements., • Prepare documentation consistent with departmental standards., • Meet the Department’s annual billable hour requirement., • Work flexible hours as needed to support attorneys and paralegals during peak workloads., • Promptly notify supervising lawyers, paralegals, and the Director of eDiscovery regarding any time out of office., • Participate in ongoing legal and technical education to maintain up‑to‑date eDiscovery expertise., • Work collaboratively within a team or pod structure., • Support departmental initiatives, including software evaluations, process development, testing, and internal training programs., • Monitor communication channels to ensure timely acknowledgment and response to legal team requests. Minimum Qualifications • Strong understanding of the litigation lifecycle, the EDRM, and discovery obligations within legal practice., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to attorneys, clients, and technical stakeholders., • Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, and strong organizational/time‑management abilities., • Advanced technical proficiency with Relativity; Relativity certifications preferred., • Expert understanding of load files and data manipulation techniques using industry‑standard tools., • Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions., • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment., • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and uphold professional ethics. Education • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required., • Relativity certifications preferred. Experience • Minimum of 7 years of eDiscovery or Litigation Support experience., • Experience in an AmLaw 100 environment preferred., • Hands‑on experience with Relativity, Everchron, ReadySuite, UltraEdit (or equivalent text editor), Harvey, Page Vault, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook., • Programming or scripting skills preferred (Python, SQL, or similar). Compliance & Defensibility Notes: This role requires strict adherence to industry‑recognized eDiscovery standards, including defensible chain‑of‑custody practices, documentation controls, confidentiality requirements, and compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and data‑privacy obligations (such as FRCP standards, DOJ/SEC expectations, and Firm policies).
