Job Description Network & Security Infrastructure Consultant - Gaithersburg, MD (hybrid) • 1 year assignment with potential to extend, • Must live within commuting distance of Gaithersburg, MD Role Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Network Infrastructure & Security Consultant to support a strategic M&A integration project for a global enterprise client. • This individual will work closely with internal IT teams to evaluate, integrate, and secure acquired network environments while ensuring regulatory compliance, business continuity, and performance optimization. Network Evaluation & Integration Strategy • Assess the current state of network infrastructure within newly acquired organizations., • Collaborate with IT and business teams to design scalable and secure integration plans., • Review and strengthen network security postures in accordance with internal security policies., • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, GxP, ISO 27001)., • Provide expert-level guidance on network architecture, security tooling, and operational models., • Support deployment of new technologies post-acquisition, offering hands-on configuration when needed., • Develop and maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, playbooks, and SOPs., • Identify and recommend long-term improvements to network performance, monitoring, and resiliency., • 7–10+ years of experience in network infrastructure and security engineering, preferably in enterprise or regulated environments., • Proven experience supporting IT integrations post-acquisition or during large-scale infrastructure changes., • In-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN/WLAN, routing & switching, firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, and cloud connectivity., • Strong understanding of network security best practices, identity/access control, and zero-trust architectures., • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST, HIPAA, GxP, or ISO 27001., • Proficient in creating documentation, playbooks, and network diagrams (e.g., with Visio or Lucidchart)., • Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industries., • Hands-on experience with tools such as:, • Cisco Catalyst, ASA, Firepower, • Cisco DNA Center / Prime, • SolarWinds, Plixer, or equivalent network monitoring tools, • Certifications: CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, or equivalent, • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and hybrid network design, • All candidates are encouraged to apply, but many positions require a strict drug and background check by our customers., • F2OnSite supports and adheres to all state laws regarding background checks., • This position requires specific work hours to be adhered to.
