Job DescriptionProposal Manager & Marketing Strategist About Banneker Ventures Banneker Ventures is a high-growth, purpose-driven real estate development and construction firm based in the Washington, DC metro area. To support our mission, we’re hiring a Proposal Manager and Marketing Strategist who will lead our branding and business development materials, while owning the strategy and execution of all public and private RFP responses. Position Summary The Proposal Manager and Marketing Strategist is a role that blends creative brand execution with strategic proposal leadership. This position will work across departments—including development, construction, estimating, and executive leadership—to support Banneker’s pursuit of new projects and partnerships. The ideal candidate is organized, design-savvy, an excellent writer/editor, and experienced in managing complex RFP responses, particularly in real estate development or general contracting. Key Responsibilities Proposal Development & Response Management • Develop tailored response strategies that align with each client’s scoring priorities., • Maintain and update a comprehensive proposal library, including:, • Resumes and bios of team members, • Project profiles, • Safety plans, QA/QC protocols, and more, • Collaborate with:, • Pre-Construction on schedule narratives, logistics plans, and pricing sections, • Development for project alignment and past performance, • Accounting for bonding letters and insurance documents, • Write, edit, and format proposal content to ensure clarity, consistency, and visual quality. Submission & Post-Response Support • Manage submission logistics (upload portals, print production, packaging)., • Ensure all deadlines, forms, and compliance requirements are met., • Archive proposals and track outcomes for continuous improvement., • Prepare summary win/loss reports and lessons learned. RFP Review & Pursuit Strategy (Public + Private) • Regularly review new RFPs and RFQs from public agencies and private developers., • Analyze evaluation criteria, submission requirements, and scope of work to guide pursuit decisions., • Lead internal Go/No-Go meetings with Banneker leadership., • Match relevant Banneker projects, personnel, and partners to each RFP to maximize competitiveness. Resume & Team Assembly • Curate and customize staff resumes and organizational charts for each submission., • Ensure bios highlight relevant certifications, experience, and agency-specific qualifications., • Coordinate with HR and department leads to collect accurate and updated credentials. Marketing & Brand Management • Design and manage branded collateral: company brochures, capability statements, project sheets, newsletters, flyers, signage, and presentations., • Maintain and evolve the company’s visual identity across all channels—digital, print, and physical environments (e.g., jobsite signage, events)., • Develop branded content for email campaigns, announcements, and community engagement materials., • Support website content updates, press releases, and social media graphics., • Oversee photography, videography, and visual documentation of key milestones (e.g., groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, completions). Qualifications • 3–7 years of experience in marketing, proposal coordination, or business development support (AEC, real estate, or construction industry preferred), • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office, • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills, • Strong understanding of government and private-sector RFP processes, • Highly organized with strong project management skills and attention to detail, • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure, • Experience coordinating across multiple departments and external partners Compensation and Benefits • Competitive salary commensurate with experience: $70,000 – $90,000., • Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, paid family leave, voluntary disability benefits, a retirement savings plan with company match, and generous paid time off., • Professional Development: Opportunities for continued education, certifications, and career growth within a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
