With its rich history, diverse neighborhoods, and proximity to iconic landmarks like Georgetown and the National Mall, Washington, DC is an exciting place to live and work for travel nurses seeking both professional growth and memorable experiences.\n \n\nJob Details\n\n • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770 - $1,860\n, • Location: Washington, DC 20007 (Transplant ICU)\n, • Unit: S44 Transplant ICU\n, • Position: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse / Night Shift\n, • Shift: Night Shift (3 x 12-hour shifts, 19:00 - 07:30)\n, • Hours per Week: 36\n, • Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)\n, • Patient Ratio: 2:1\n, • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required\n, • Float Requirement: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity\n\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n, • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience; Transplant ICU experience preferred\n, • Active DC RN license required (pending accepted for later start dates; license must be in hand prior to start)\n, • BLS and ACLS certifications required\n, • Experience with Cerner electronic health record preferred\n, • Charge nurse experience preferred\n, • Community hospital experience preferred\n, • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)\n, • Two supervisor references required\n, • Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)\n\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n, • Provide high-quality critical care to adult and geriatric patients in a 24-bed transplant ICU\n, • Assess, interpret, and manage dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, and complex hemodynamic instability\n, • Manage IV insulin protocols, post-operative transplant care, GI surgery patients, and chronic/acute renal failure\n, • Support CVA/acute stroke management and neurocritical care including EVDs, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, and post-neurosurgery care\n, • Perform phlebotomy, manage surgical wounds with drains/wound vac, and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips\n, • Administer emergency medications and blood products according to hospital protocols\n, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV therapy, PT, respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams)\n, • Adhere to infection prevention, isolation precautions, and proper PPE use\n GHR Healthcare Job ID #475507.
