Job Description Job Title: Production Specialist I / Production Associate This hands-on role supports the manufacturing and assembly of printed circuit boards and related components in a clean, climate-controlled facility. You will operate production equipment, perform detailed assembly and inspection work, and help maintain high quality and safety standards. No prior manufacturing experience is required; comprehensive training is provided for motivated individuals with strong attention to detail, reliability, and a willingness to learn. Pay: 20-25/hr Responsibilities • Operate production machinery safely and efficiently by following standard operating procedures (SOPs)., • Load materials into equipment, set machine parameters, and run manufacturing processes according to specifications., • Monitor production output using equipment controls, gauges, and visual inspections to ensure consistent quality., • Identify, document, and promptly escalate defects, abnormalities, or process issues to the appropriate personnel., • Perform in-process and final quality checks, including measurements and basic testing, to verify conformance to standards., • Complete routine preventative maintenance on equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and basic part replacement., • Maintain accurate production logs, inspection records, and other documentation in both paper and electronic formats., • Follow all safety protocols, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and contribute to a safe work environment., • Support cross-training efforts and assist in other production areas as needed to meet production schedules., • Use basic computer systems, including ERP software, for data entry and production tracking., • Read and follow written work instructions, job travelers, and technical specifications with precision., • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work and resolve issues., • Participate in continuous improvement activities and apply basic lean principles to improve processes and efficiency., • Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned to support overall production goals. Essential Skills • High school diploma or GED required., • Ability to read and follow written instructions, work instructions, and technical specifications., • Strong attention to detail and precision in all aspects of work., • Manual dexterity for fine detail work and repetitive hand movements., • Basic computer skills, including ERP systems, data entry, and Microsoft Office., • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • Organized, reliable, and detail oriented with a strong work ethic., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Ability to sit or stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks., • Ability to regularly lift 5–15 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., • Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols and use appropriate PPE., • Willingness to learn lean principles and contribute to continuous improvement. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Manufacturing or equipment operation experience preferred but not required., • Familiarity with manufacturing environments and production processes., • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and machinery., • Experience with cleanroom or clean manufacturing environments is a plus., • Team collaboration and communication skills in a production setting., • Willingness to learn, adapt, and participate in cross-training., • Comfort working around chemicals, fumes, or odors associated with PCB manufacturing (with PPE provided). Work Environment The role is based in an indoor, clean, climate-controlled production facility focused on high-tech printed circuit board fabrication and assembly. Production Specialists work around precision equipment and industrial machinery with moderate noise levels typical of manufacturing environments. The dress code is casual, allowing jeans and T-shirts, while appropriate personal protective equipment is provided and required where needed. Work involves extended periods of standing or sitting, repetitive hand movements, and handling small components, with regular lifting of 5–15 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Employees may be exposed to chemicals, fumes, or odors associated with PCB manufacturing, with safety protocols and PPE in place to mitigate risk. The facility operates multiple shifts, including 1st (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Mon–Fri), 2nd (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Mon–Fri), and 3rd (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM, Sun–Thurs), offering flexibility in scheduling. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
