This client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, on premises Exchange Server, and Microsoft Teams. This role is essential to keeping enterprise email, messaging, and collaboration platforms secure, highly available, and performant. You will support hybrid and cloud environments, lead advanced Teams configurations (including voice), and drive operational excellence through automation, monitoring, and security best practices. Job Description As an Infrastructure Engineer II, you will own the administration and optimization of Microsoft 365 messaging and collaboration services for an enterprise environment. You will serve as a senior escalation point for complex incidents, implement improvements and upgrades, and partner with cross functional teams to ensure reliability, compliance, and an excellent end user experience. Key Responsibilities • Exchange Administration (Hybrid + Cloud), • Administer and maintain Exchange Online and on premises Exchange Server to ensure availability, security, and performance., • Manage hybrid Exchange configurations including Azure AD Connect, mail flow between on premises and cloud, and related routing policies., • Administer mailboxes, distribution groups, permissions, and mail routing rules., • Monitor server health, queues, and storage, and implement retention and archiving policies to support continuity needs., • Microsoft Teams Administration (Collaboration + Voice), • Configure and support Microsoft Teams for enterprise collaboration including provisioning, teams and channels, and policy management., • Administer Teams Phone System features such as Direct Routing, dial plans, call queues, normalization rules, and E911 emergency location services., • Manage meeting configurations, scheduling policies, and client updates, including support for VDI or Citrix environments., • Ensure smooth integration across Microsoft 365 services including Exchange calendaring and SharePoint or OneDrive file collaboration., • PowerShell Scripting and Automation, • Build and maintain PowerShell automation for Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and Azure AD administrative tasks., • Automate onboarding and offboarding, license assignment, mailbox provisioning, Teams configuration, and batch policy updates., • Create health and usage reporting, improve monitoring signal quality, and reduce repetitive manual work through automation., • Monitoring, Troubleshooting, and Tier 3 Support, • Proactively monitor Exchange and Teams health and usage through admin portals and dashboards., • Provide Tier 3 support for complex issues such as mail flow problems, client connectivity, and Teams call or meeting quality incidents., • Perform root cause analysis on major incidents and implement preventive actions., • Partner with Microsoft Support as needed and drive escalations through resolution., • Upgrades, Migrations, and Projects, • Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and enhancements including Exchange cumulative updates and mailbox moves to Exchange Online., • Enable and roll out new Microsoft 365 capabilities while following change management practices to minimize disruption., • Support tenant to tenant migrations when required., • Documentation and Collaboration, • Maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures for Microsoft 365 services., • Provide guidance to IT support teams and assist with knowledge transfer, training, and process improvements., • 5 plus years of hands on experience in infrastructure or systems engineering with a strong focus on Microsoft 365 administration., • Demonstrated expertise administering Exchange Server (2016, 2019, or SE) and Exchange Online in a hybrid environment, including mail flow and hybrid connectivity., • Strong experience administering Microsoft Teams at enterprise scale, including policies for messaging, meetings, and calling., • Experience with Teams voice features such as Direct Routing or Calling Plans, dial plans, call queues, auto attendants, normalization rules, and E911 concepts., • Working knowledge of SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business administration, including permissions, sharing, storage, and integration with Teams., • Experience with Azure AD user and group management, licensing, guest administration, and securing access using MFA and Conditional Access., • Advanced PowerShell skills for automation and administration across Exchange Online, Teams, and identity workloads., • Solid fundamentals in Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and networking concepts that impact hybrid Exchange and Teams voice quality., • Proven troubleshooting and incident management skills, including root cause analysis and implementing preventive improvements., • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document procedures and explain technical concepts clearly. Preferred, • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience., • Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft 365 Messaging Administrator, Teams Administrator, or Enterprise Administrator Expert., • Experience with Intune or Endpoint Manager, device conditional access, or broader Microsoft security controls., • Experience supporting Teams in VDI or Citrix environments., • Familiarity with third party email security, archiving, backup, or monitoring tools such as Mimecast, Proofpoint, Quest, or similar., • Experience working in large scale enterprise environments and or highly regulated industries., • Exposure to additional scripting or automation tooling beyond PowerShell, such as Python. #ZR #IT.IndeedCompany DescriptionOur promise is simple.
