Job Description Position: Commercial Maintenance Technician Location: Nashville, TN Shift: Mon – Fri 1st Shift Employment: Contract (2-3 month engagement) Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experience Position Description: We are seeking a skilled and dependable Commercial Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of commercial facilities. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with experience across multiple building trades who takes pride in delivering high-quality work, maintaining safe environments, and providing excellent customer service. The Maintenance Technician will perform day-to-day building maintenance, troubleshoot issues, complete work orders efficiently, and partner closely with internal teams and onsite clients to ensure facilities remain in “like-new” condition. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with consistent hours, modern tools and technology, and strong support from a dedicated operations team. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs in accordance with work orders, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, • Conduct minor plumbing repairs (e.g., toilets, faucets, valves, sensors, unclogging fixtures), • Perform general carpentry, drywall repair, patching, painting, and touch-up work to maintain facility appearance, • Complete minor electrical maintenance as permitted by state law (e.g., replacing switches, outlets, fixtures, ballasts, and bulbs), • Inspect and maintain walls, floors, doors, and other building components, • Conduct service inspections and asset inspections as required, • Utilize mobile technology (tablet/smartphone) to:, • Access and close work orders, • Document services performed with notes and photos, • Submit service reports, timesheets, expense reports, and purchase card logs, • Source and obtain materials and supplies needed to complete assigned tasks, • Provide estimates for larger repair or improvement projects, • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal support teams, • Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service quality, • Complete required safety, compliance, and EHS training and attend safety meetings, • Support emergency, preventive, and scheduled maintenance activities, • Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills / Education: • High School Diploma or equivalent required, • Trade school, technical certification, or related coursework preferred, • 2–5 years of general facilities or building maintenance experience, • Experience in commercial facilities, property management, or building services strongly preferred, • Equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience will be considered Technical Skills: • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance, • Experience supporting HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, • Ability to complete work orders accurately and on time, • Proficiency using mobile devices and basic business software (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel), • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS/work order systems Licenses & Certifications: • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, • Applicable trade certifications or licenses preferred, as required by role and state regulations Safety & Compliance: • Strong understanding of OSHA standards and workplace safety practices, • Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Communication & Interpersonal Skills: • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Comfortable interacting with clients, vendors, and internal teams, • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively Additional Requirements: • Daily local travel between properties as required, • Ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform physical tasks associated with facilities maintenance.
