Job Description Carpenter – Division 10 Installer (Commercial Finish Carpentry) Job Description This role focuses on installing Division 10 specialty items and commercial finish carpentry components in construction projects. You will interpret drawings, perform precise layout and installation, and ensure all work meets quality, safety, and specification requirements. The position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with tools, and the ability to work efficiently on active construction sites. Responsibilities • Install Division 10 specialty items such as toilet partitions made of plastic, phenolic, and stainless steel., • Install toilet accessories including grab bars, mirrors, and various dispensers., • Install fire extinguishers and fire extinguisher cabinets according to specifications and safety standards., • Install metal, phenolic, and wood lockers in commercial environments., • Install corner guards, wall protection, and door protection systems to specified locations., • Install signage, flagpoles, and projection screens as indicated on drawings and specifications., • Install cubicle curtain tracks and related accessories with precise alignment and secure fastening., • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to plan and execute installations., • Accurately measure, lay out, level, and plumb all installations to ensure proper fit and finish., • Coordinate work activities with general contractors, supervisors, and other trades on site., • Perform minor carpentry tasks including drilling, anchoring, fastening, and rough or finish carpentry as needed., • Use hand tools and power tools safely, efficiently, and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines., • Inspect completed work to verify quality, alignment, and compliance with project specifications., • Limit rework by focusing on precision and high-quality workmanship rather than speed., • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the project., • Follow OSHA regulations and all site-specific safety requirements at all times., • Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting project deadlines and quality standards., • Experience in commercial finish carpentry or Division 10 installation preferred., • Strong understanding of construction drawings, blueprints, and field layouts., • Demonstrated experience installing partitions, lockers, or accessories in commercial settings is highly desirable., • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fastening systems used in construction and finish carpentry., • Ability to perform both rough and finish carpentry tasks as needed., • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently on active construction sites., • Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision and limiting rework., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders or lifts as required by the job., • Reliable transportation and consistent, punctual attendance., • OSHA 10 certification., • commercial construction environments, particularly on large or complex projects., • Experience with finish carpentry tasks such as cabinetry and trim work., • Comfort working with a variety of materials including metal, phenolic, plastic, wood, and drywall., • Ability to collaborate effectively with general contractors, supervisors, and other trades., • Strong problem-solving skills to address field conditions and adjust installations as needed., • Commitment to quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications and timelines. Work Environment You will work on active commercial construction sites alongside other trades and site personnel. Current project locations include a large industrial site in Austin and a naval base in Corpus Christi, where you will collaborate with a small, focused crew. The role involves frequent use of hand and power tools, working around drywall, metal studs, doors, cabinetry, and various Division 10 materials. You will spend much of the day on your feet, lifting materials up to 50 pounds, and working on ladders or lifts to complete overhead or elevated installations. The environment is safety-focused and requires consistent adherence to OSHA and site-specific safety protocols, as well as maintaining clean, organized work areas throughout each project. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
