Job DescriptionJob Title: Welder / Production OperatorJob Description The Welder / Production Operator safely operates production equipment and performs high-quality MIG welding on steel and stainless steel materials to support efficient manufacturing operations. Working under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, this role follows established procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations while contributing to the assembly and fabrication of durable products. Responsibilities • Perform high-quality MIG welding on steel and stainless steel components in accordance with production requirements and established quality standards., • Safely operate production equipment, hand tools, and power tools used in welding, fabrication, and assembly processes., • Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings to understand specifications, dimensions, and welding requirements., • Use measuring tapes and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure components meet precise tolerances., • Assist with general labor and assembly tasks as needed to support production workflows and meet daily output goals., • Conduct grinding and finishing work on welded parts to achieve required surface quality and fit., • Handle and work with various welding processes, including MIG, TIG, flux core, stick, and wire feed, as appropriate to the task., • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and used safely., • Follow all safety regulations, procedures, and guidelines to minimize risk and maintain a safe manufacturing environment., • Monitor work quality and perform basic inspections on welded and assembled components, identifying and correcting defects., • Collaborate with team members and the Shift Supervisor to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient production flow., • Use basic math skills to calculate measurements, material needs, and verify accuracy of work., • Support continuous improvement efforts by following standardized work practices and suggesting improvements to processes where appropriate.Essential Skills, • Proficiency in MIG welding on steel and stainless steel materials., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings., • Skilled in using measuring tapes and other measuring tools to verify dimensions accurately., • Experience with assembly and general labor tasks in a manufacturing or production environment., • Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively., • Attention to detail to ensure weld quality, dimensional accuracy, and adherence to specifications., • Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and verification of work., • Ability to perform grinding and finishing operations on welded components., • Knowledge of welding processes such as MIG, TIG, flux core, stick welding, and wire feed operations., • Capability to follow established procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations consistently.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment is beneficial., • Familiarity with mild steel fabrication and trailer or similar product manufacturing is an advantage., • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on technical work., • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors., • Reliability and strong work ethic, with a focus on meeting production goals and maintaining quality., • Willingness to perform both welding and general assembly or labor tasks as needed.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a large manufacturing plant environment that can be humid and hot, with some work performed outdoors. The facility is not fully temperature controlled, and most assemblers work in areas where temperatures can vary significantly. Team members regularly use welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices while working on production lines and fabrication stations. Appropriate workwear is required to ensure safety and comfort in an industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boise, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
