The Role We’re seeking a hands-on Head of Sales to fully own Joggy’s retail sales, distribution strategy, and revenue growth. This is a foundational leadership role for a relentless go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment and can take complex challenges from strategy to flawless execution. We’ve already kicked off distribution on the West Coast and secured key partnerships with KeHE and UNFI, landing placement in major chains and strong independents. Now we need to double down, turbocharge velocity in existing accounts, and build a scalable playbook to rapidly expand into new regions across the US. You’ll lead this charge, working closely with the founder and cross-functional team to turn distribution momentum into national scale. Key Responsibilities • Own end-to-end retail sales & distribution strategy: Set ambitious but achievable revenue targets, channel plans, and market expansion roadmap for the next 12–24 months., • Drive revenue growth: Accelerate sell-in and sell-through with existing distributors (KeHE, UNFI) and key accounts; identify and close new regional/national chain opportunities (e.g., Whole Foods, Sprouts, regional grocers, convenience, etc.)., • Build and lead the sales engine: Hire, mentor, and scale a high-performance sales team (brokers, direct reps, inside sales) as we grow; establish processes, KPIs, forecasting, and CRM discipline., • Own distributor & broker relationships: Maximize velocity through KeHE/UNFI, negotiate promotions, optimize assortment, and ensure flawless execution on in-store visibility and merchandising., • Develop market expansion playbook: Prioritize new regions/markets based on data (demographics, competitive density, logistics), launch efficiently, and iterate quickly., • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner tightly with marketing (for sell-in decks, promo planning), operations/supply chain (forecasting, inventory), and finance (P&L ownership, pricing/margin strategy)., • Track and report performance: Deliver clear, data-driven updates to leadership on pipeline, revenue, distribution metrics, and competitive landscape., • 8–12+ years of progressive sales leadership in CPG/beverage (energy drinks, functional beverages, natural/organic preferred)., • Proven track record building and scaling retail distribution from early-stage to multi-million revenue—experience with KeHE, UNFI, and major/natural chains is a big plus., • Deep understanding of the beverage/retail landscape: buyer relationships, category management, DSD vs. warehouse, promo planning, velocity drivers, and competitive dynamics., • Entrepreneurial mindset: Comfortable in ambiguity, bias for action, and ability to wear multiple hats in a startup., • Strong leadership & people skills: Ability to hire, inspire, and manage a growing team; excellent communicator and negotiator., • Data-driven & strategic: Comfortable with forecasting, P&L basics, Nielsen/IRI/IRI-like data (or similar tools), and turning insights into action., • Location & travel: Willing to travel 40–60% (trade shows, distributor meetings, key account visits); Denver/Boulder or West Coast preferred for proximity to team., • Passion for health, wellness, and clean energy: You believe in the mission and live the brand.
