About the Role As a Senior Network Engineer, you will lead the design, architecture, and strategic direction of client network infrastructures. This role combines advanced hands-on engineering with ownership of high impact projects, technical leadership, and acting as the senior escalation point for complex network issues. You will collaborate closely with Service Delivery, Professional Services, and the wider technical teams to maintain , enhance, and evolve our clients networks. Responsibilities Architecture & Engineering Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-level network solutions. Architect scalable, secure LAN/WAN, wireless, and cloud-integrated network environments. Drive complex network upgrades, migrations, integrations, and transformation projects. Technical Leadership , Team Lead & Escalation Act as the senior escalation point for complex routing, switching, firewall , and security issues. Provide expert-level troubleshooting within agreed SLAs and KPIs. Lead and coordinate the network engineering team, ensuring workload balance, prioritisation, and high-quality delivery. Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to engineers and technical support teams. Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering continuous learning and professional growth. Oversee technical standards, best practices, and adherence to engineering governance. Operational Excellence Maintain high levels of customer service with accurate , timely responses. Own the progression and resolution of all assigned support cases. Conduct proactive monitoring to ensure stable, efficient, and cost-effective network services. Review and implement change requests in line with governance, risk, and compliance requirements. Ensure team adherence to operational processes, documentation standards, and SLA performance benchmarks. Onsite & Field Work Conduct site surveys for new installations, planned maintenance, and new business opportunities. Deliver onsite troubleshooting, configuration, and infrastructure improvements as required . Coordinate team deployment for onsite works, ensuring correct skill alignment and resource coverage. Strategic Contribution Evaluate, recommend, and introduce emerging networking technologies. Maintain and improve documentation, topology maps, processes, and procedures. Own network-related projects from planning through to delivery. Oversee vendor relationships, procurement cycles, and technology selection. Propose and implement new tools, automations, and service enhancements to benefit clients. Contribute to strategic planning for team growth, capability development, and service evolution. Experience: Several years of commercial experience as a Network Engineer within a managed services or professional services environment. Proven background supporting and designing Cisco based networks. Experience acting as senior escalation for complex network issues. Strong customer facing communication and experience working both remotely and onsite. Certifications CCNA Required CCNP Required CCIE - Preferred Additional vendor certifications (Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.) are advantageous . Technical Skills Required: Networking & Infrastructure Cisco routing & switching Cisco switches (enterprise level) Cisco Meraki (MX/MS/MR) Palo Alto LAN & WAN technologies Wi Fi troubleshooting & optimisation IP addressing, subnets, VLANs, DNS, DHCP Diagnosing internet connectivity and performance issues Network monitoring and performance analysis tools Security & Firewalls Firewall configuration, administration, and troubleshooting Understanding of security standards and compliance frameworks VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, and secure network design The Candidate You will be a proactive, reliable, and highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with a strong commitment to technical excellence, operational maturity, and outstanding customer service. You take ownership of problems, communicate clearly, and apply a continuous-improvement mindset. You act as a role model within the Network Team, providing leadership, guidance, and structure to support high-quality service delivery. You will demonstrate strong technical depth, holding certificatio ns such as CCNA (required) and CCNP (expected for senior level) , with progression toward CCIE or equivalent expert credentials. Additional vendor certifications across Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet , or cloud networking (Azure/AWS) are highly advantageous , reflecting your commitment to staying current in a rapidly evolving industry.
