    We are seeking a reliable and skilled Handyman to perform a variety of general maintenance and upkeep of a portfolio of 16 Supported Housing Properties/HMOs (Houses in Multiple Occupation), ensuring all properties are safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard for residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in general repairs, basic plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and property maintenance. The Handyman will ensure that facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained while delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service. Additional Key Responsibilities • Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections across 16 supported housing properties and HMOs., • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents, support staff, and management., • Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise property damage and reduce repair costs., • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, decorating, and general repair work., • Ensure communal areas, gardens, and external grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained., • Complete room turnarounds, including repairs, decorating, and preparation for new occupants., • Monitor and report any health and safety concerns, property defects, or safeguarding issues., • Liaise with external contractors for specialist repairs and ensure work is completed to the required standard., • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed works., • Support compliance with housing regulations, HMO licensing requirements, and health and safety legislation., • Participate in emergency call-outs when required to address urgent maintenance issues. Experience & Skills • Previous experience working within supported housing, social housing, residential properties, or HMOs is highly desirable., • Good knowledge of property maintenance, health and safety requirements, and building regulations., • Ability to work independently and manage maintenance requirements across multiple properties., • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally around vulnerable adults and diverse communities., • A proactive and solution-focused approach to property maintenance and resident wellbeing. Desirable • Experience working within supported accommodation, homelessness services, or housing associations., • Knowledge of HMO compliance regulations and property licensing requirements., • Basic qualifications in a trade such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, or property maintenance.

    Overview Options is a small privately run Day service for adults with learning disabilities. As a day service officer you will be required to support service users out in the community as well as inhouse at our base in Hilsea. You will be working both on your own and as part of a team. This position will require you to be over 25 due to company insurance policies and hold a full drivers licence as we have our own work vehicles and driving will be involved. An NVQ in health and social care is preferred and an enhanced DBS will also be required if you are a candidate for the position. The position is for a minimum of 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday Duties • Assist service users with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety during their session, • Support service users with personal care tasks such as changing, dressing, and mobility assistance, • Engage service users in social activities, recreational programmes, and meaningful interactions to promote mental well-being, • Maintain accurate records of care provided, • Foster a warm, respectful environment that promotes independence and dignity for all service users, • Driving duties such as picking up service users, transporting to activities etc, • 1-1 outreach in the community Experience • Previous experience working in a care setting is highly desirable, • Strong communication skills are necessary to build rapport with service users and collaborate effectively with colleagues, • Familiarity with person-centred care approaches that respect individual needs and preferences is preferred, • Full UK driving licence essential as well as being 25 or over for insurance purposes This role provides an enriching environment where your skills can directly improve the lives of the service users we support.
