Trainee Caseworker Assistant (Apprenticeship) Immigration & Asylum Law – Legal Aid 📍 Luton (On-Site) About Us Solomon Solicitors is a well-established, client-focused law firm based in Luton, serving clients across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, London and beyond. We specialise in Immigration & Asylum Law (Legal Aid and private), Residential & Commercial Conveyancing, Business Immigration, and Wills & Probate. We are expanding our Immigration & Asylum Department and are seeking a Trainee Caseworker Assistant (Apprenticeship) to join our busy Legal Aid team. The Role This is an apprenticeship position designed for individuals at the early stages of their legal career who wish to develop practical experience in immigration and asylum law. You will work under close supervision of a senior caseworker and assist with a varied caseload including: • Asylum and protection claims, • Human rights applications, • Fresh claims, • Assisting senior caseworkers with day-to-day case progression, • Drafting correspondence and assisting with legal representations (under supervision), • Preparing bundles and supporting appeal preparation, • Liaising with clients, interpreters, and external agencies, • Maintaining accurate case records in line with Legal Aid Agency requirements, • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities, • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, • Some knowledge of immigration law or legal procedures, • Law degree or currently studying law (or equivalent), • Multilingual skills (advantageous but not essential)Apprenticeship & Training, • This role is offered as an apprenticeship, with structured training and development, • Full supervision and mentoring provided, • Opportunity to progress towards IAAS Level 2 accreditation (subject to performance and eligibility)Salary & Benefits, • Apprenticeship pay rates in line with statutory requirements, • Supportive, friendly, and diverse working environment, • Hands-on legal experience in a Legal Aid practice (This role is not suitable for remote or hybrid working) How to Apply Please submit your CV and a brief covering statement outlining your interest in immigration and asylum law to .
