Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Office Manager / Office Administrator to support the smooth running of day-to-day operations. This is a varied, hands-on role involving office management, purchasing, administration, light HR coordination, finance support and team organisation. Key Responsibilities Office & Operations Management • Ensure the office environment is organised, safe and well maintained, • Manage purchasing of office and laboratory supplies, • Act as the main point of contact for suppliers, vendors and service providers, • Coordinate meeting logistics and travel arrangements, • Organise internal team events and social activities, • Process invoices, expenses and purchase orders, • Assist with financial record keeping and simple reconciliation, • Support budget tracking and project expenditure monitoring, • Maintain accurate employee records and assist with onboarding new starters, • Track holidays, absences, and support updates to internal policies, • Track project timelines, deliverables and budgets, • Assist with internal documentation and quality processes, • Support basic marketing tasks such as social media posting and external communications What You Bring • Experience in office management, administration, operations support or a similar role, • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail, • Clear written and verbal communication skills, • Confident with MS Office; familiarity with finance/HR systems is a plus, • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and prioritise effectively, • A proactive, flexible, problem-solving mindset, • Professional and approachable manner when interacting with staff, suppliers and visitors Nice to have (not required): • Experience in a technical, startup or research environment, • Familiarity with Xero and project management tools, • Interest in light marketing or social media tasks Why Join Engivent? • Flexible working options (full-time or part-time considered), • A collaborative and innovative work environment with growth opportunities, • The opportunity to work on cutting-edge innovation in science and engineering, • On-site parking and within cycling distance from Cambridge city centre How to Apply Please email with your CV and a short cover note explaining your interest in the role.
