Role Overview The Retail Operations Lead plays a key role in driving operational excellence, improving efficiency, and leading all aspects of store operations. This position requires a proactive, commercially minded individual who can work autonomously, support colleagues, and contribute to an exceptional customer experience. Key Responsibilities 1. Team Leadership & Management Supervise and support team members across departments. Act as a communication bridge between employees and senior management. 2. Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations. Conduct regular checks to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards. Ensure all required documentation and certifications are up to date for Fable store. Report and address any health or safety concerns immediately. Product Safety & Liability Ensure all products meet UK safety standards, remove unsafe or recalled items, and maintain traceability documentation. Store Premises & Operational Checks Regular checks for fire safety equipment, hygiene standards, safe stock storage, and maintenance of lighting, heating, and electrical equipment. 3. Operational Efficiency Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve profitability. Implement smarter, faster ways of working to reduce waste and enhance efficiency. Store Operations Reconcile daily takings, manage cash handling, and report discrepancies. Manage daily rota planning and optimise staffing during peak periods. Maintain merchandising standards and ensure timely replenishment. Support omnichannel operations, including stock personalisation for E-commerce. Open and close the store as required. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 5 years experience managing a team in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Proven experience in retail management operations, Strong leadership and communication skills. UK right to work Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to build strong partnerships across departments. Flexible availability during peak periods, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
