The trust is also currently working on an estates master plan for the whole hospital site that hopes to access capital from the governments ‘new hospital programme'. These plans will also include provision for the already approved College of Medical Science The Cardiology Team has expanded over the last 10 years and provides a comprehensive cardiology service to the local population. The Cardiology Team currently has:- • 5 Cardiology Consultants (6th due to start in 2022), • 2 Specialist Registrars (on the North West Cardiology training programme), • 1 CMT1 doctor and 1 CMT2 doctor, • 1 FY1 doctor and 1 FY2 doctor In addition, there are 10 Specialist Nurses caring for patients with cardiac problems.
