THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced and visionary Production Manager to join Wake the Tiger London at a pivotal moment, mid-way through our initial build phase, and become a permanent part of the team as the venue opens and grows. You will be joining the project mid-way through the build phase, immersing yourself in an already live and complex production environment, and continuing with the organisation through to operational opening and beyond. At Wake the Tiger, production activity never stops: once the venue opens, there are seasonal builds, new installations, exhibit refreshes, and creative updates running continuously alongside day-to-day operations. You will own that cycle from end to end, delivering the initial build to the highest creative standards, leading the opening, and then continuing to produce the programme of works that keeps the experience fresh and evolving. You will work closely with the Creative Director, Technical Lead, and the wider organisation, balancing the demands of live operations with an always-active production pipeline. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Build Management & Site Operations • Manage and schedule all production phases, from fabrication and installation through to ongoing operational delivery, seasonal overlays, and future upgrades., • Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring progress against timeline and addressing issues swiftly., • Continuously monitor the site, ensuring preventative and ad-hoc maintenance is carried out efficiently., • Coordinate access, deliveries, materials storage, site logistics and transport, • Ensure clear communication between creative, production, technical and site teams., • Maintain a daily site log and provide regular progress reports to the Creative build crew., • Ensure all production equipment is well maintained and assets are accurately recorded., • Support the planning and execution of events and additional programming in collaboration with other teams. Supplier, Crew and Contractor Coordination • Source and manage all fabricators, scenic artists, carpenters, contractors, and build crew., • Source and purchase necessary materials to maintain workflow and meet project deadlines., • Negotiate supplier contracts and manage relationships to ensure high-quality, cost-effective delivery., • Ensure all freelancers and contractors are inducted, briefed, and compliant with health and safety standards., • Track attendance for freelancers who are billing direct to WTT, manage sign-in/out systems, and ensure labour is effectively scheduled., • Line manage direct reports, including building and overseeing rota coverage to ensure consistent technical support across park opening hours. Health, Safety & Compliance • Enforce compliance with CDM, health and safety, fire safety, and safeguarding procedures., • Ensure the COSHH register is maintained and conducts COSHH assessments for hazardous substances., • Oversee the safe disposal of waste products generated by the Production Team., • Act as the primary site contact for emergency procedures, first aid, and safety briefings., • Work with Health & Safety leads to maintaining and enforcing up-to-date RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for all parties., • Ensure all sets are safely installed, secure, and structurally sound before handover., • On completion provide a complete set of overhead rigging information to act as the basis for ongoing checks. Budget and Financial Management • Track production and build budgets alongside the Creative Director, procurement, and report regularly on spend vs forecast., • Identify and mitigate overspend risks early, finding practical solutions to stay within budget., • Plan and manage resources across the technical function, including workshop and space scheduling, materials, and budget reallocation where required Skills & Experience: • Strong experience managing complex set builds, productions, or construction sites for large-scale projects., • Strong knowledge of construction processes, set fabrication, and materials., • In-depth knowledge of health & safety regulations, CDM responsibilities, and site management., • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills under pressure., • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a wide range of contractors and personalities., • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)., • Comfortable using scheduling and reporting tools., • Ability to work full-time on site in West London. Desirable: • Experience in immersive or experiential environments., • Familiarity with scenic finishing processes (e.g., paint, texture, artistry), alongside a good understanding of basic tech infrastructure and the use of creative technology within immersive and interactive spaces., • Working knowledge of project management tools such as Notion, or similar., • Familiarity with construction drawings, set installation, and creative builds., • A full driving license would be desirable, but not essential for the role.
