Transport Compliance Manager \n Location: Greater ManchesterSalary: £35,000 - £45,000 DOE + Performance BonusHours: 40 Hours per WeekWorking Pattern: 5 Days from 7 \n The Opportunity \n A well-established and highly successful logistics and distribution business is seeking an experienced Transport Compliance Manager to join its transport operation in the Greater Manchester area. \n This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring full transport compliance across a mixed commercial fleet while supporting safe, efficient, and legally compliant operations. The successful candidate will oversee vehicle and driver compliance, lead transport-related governance activities, and work closely with operational teams to maintain high standards across the fleet. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Manage all aspects of transport compliance across a mixed fleet of commercial vehicles\n, • Ensure adherence to all relevant transport legislation, operator licence requirements, and company procedures\n, • Monitor and review driver hours, Working Time Directive compliance, and tachograph data\n, • Conduct driver debriefs, identify trends, and implement coaching measures to minimise repeat infringements\n, • Oversee vehicle inspection programmes, statutory testing schedules, and maintenance compliance\n, • Manage preventative maintenance planning and ensure regulatory checks are completed within required timescales\n, • Review maintenance records, inspection reports, brake testing documentation, and compliance certificates, taking corrective action where necessary\n, • Coordinate vehicle repairs and workshop activity to minimise operational disruption\n, • Support health and safety initiatives and promote a strong compliance culture throughout the operation\n, • Manage and develop transport personnel, including performance management, investigations, recruitment, absence management, and employee engagement\n, • Produce compliance reports and provide recommendations for continuous improvement\n\n Candidate Profile \n The ideal applicant will possess: \n\n • Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation, drivers' hours regulations, and working time requirements\n, • Experience within fleet compliance, transport operations, or logistics management\n, • Proven ability to manage vehicle maintenance compliance and regulatory documentation\n, • Experience conducting driver compliance reviews and coaching interventions\n, • Strong leadership and people management capabilities\n, • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously\n, • Confidence communicating with stakeholders at all levels\n, • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving\n, • Commercial awareness and the ability to balance compliance with operational performance\n\n Essential Qualifications & Requirements \n\n • Full UK Driving Licence\n, • Transport Manager CPC\n, • Class 2 (Category C) Licence preferred\n, • IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification desirable\n, • Previous experience within a transport or logistics compliance leadership role\n\n What's on Offer? \n\n • Competitive salary with performance-related bonus\n, • Opportunity to join a growing and reputable organisation\n, • Autonomous management role with significant responsibility\n, • Career development opportunities within a successful multi-site operation\n, • Supportive leadership team and established transport function\n\n To apply, please submit your CV for a confidential discussion or contact Adam Norris at Reed
