BDD Financial Services was established in 2020 to provide commercial broker, consultancy and support services to its clients, with a specialty in the fast food and coffee franchise sector. We are expanding our offering with the imminent launch of a new accountancy firm that will provide support and advice to our clients as they expand their businesses. This has presented an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join the new team as a Junior Accountant. We are looking for an experienced individual with the desire to develop the role, and assist in building the new venture. This role will consist of working alongside a Partner to manage the client portfolio, the preparation of management accounts, bank reconciliations and use of accounting platforms including Accounts Preparation Software, Xero and Quickbooks. The role will suit an individual who has a minimum of 3 year’s experience as an accountant, and the relevant qualifications in order to complete the necessary tasks for our growing portfolio of clients. You will need to have strong attention to detail, be efficient in workload and diary management, along with strong analytical skills. You will also need to enjoy client interaction and have a desire to build strong working relationships. This is a full time position, based out of our offices in East Tilbury, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will report to a Partner to deliver high quality service through robust, accurate and timely accountancy activities. Key Responsibilities • Prepare year-end financial statements for SMEs, sole traders, and limited companies, • Work alongside a Partner to manage the client portfolio, • Bookkeeping, Payroll and VAT return preparation using Accountancy Software, Xero and/or QuickBooks, • Review and reconcile month-end actuals reporting, ensuring sufficient supporting evidence for a full audit trail, • Assist with preparation of management accounts., • Support the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns., • Communicate with clients and HMRC, and support client queries., • Review and update financial data in databases keeping them accurate? relevant and fully accessible by request, • Deliver an efficient, friendly, and professional service for all clients, providers and visitors., • Maintain regular client contact by initiating and answering calls., • Assist with and attend meetings and events as required., • A minimum of 3 years experience working within an accountancy practice., • AAT Level 4 or equivalent required, a degree in Accounting is preferred., • Familiarity with financial accounting principles and practices., • Experience with accounts preparation software (and including QuickBooks, Xero etc.,) is essential., • A practical understanding of the differences between management and statutory accounts., • Knowledge of financial services and management., • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail., • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team., • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Benefits • Private medical insurance, • Company pension, • On-site gym, • On-site parking
