Your tasks • Maintain machinery in an orderly condition according to the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) schedule., • You’ll be working with the latest state of the art equipment, • Carry out repairs to first line production equipment utilising our extensive spares., • Collaborate with other departments and use machine downtime (OEE) data to identify and implement improvements for increased uptime, • Minimise the costs of maintenance by optimising the use of resources and implementing cost-effective solutions., • Participate in the improvements of machine operation, production process, standards and company procedures., • Engage in various project activities related to machinery upgrades, installations, and modifications., • Provide technical advice when required., • Mentoring of apprentices by sharing knowledge and best practice to develop their skills. Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, with a focus on clutch replacements, engine rebuilds, and major mechanical work. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality workmanship. Key Duties: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues and determine necessary repairs. Perform engine diagnostics and full engine rebuilds when required. Carry out clutch repairs and replacements, along with gearbox, timing belt, and other major mechanical repairs. Complete routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tyre replacements. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic tools and equipment. Repair or replace faulty components, including transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems. Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and parts used. Ensure all work is carried out in line with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Keep the workshop clean and organised, and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure timely completion of jobs and customer satisfaction. Key Skills & Requirements: Proficient in mechanical diagnostics and repair techniques. Strong understanding of vehicle systems: engine, clutch, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic. Previous hands-on experience with clutch work, engine rebuilds, and other major mechanical repairs is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. A keen eye for detail and commitment to high-quality work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills for clear interaction with team members and customers. Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive repair are advantageous. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, but training will be considered for the right candidate.
