We're currently recruiting for a Deputy Manager (Dual Role) on behalf of a growing organisation that provides specialist residential care and support for children and young people with autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional who is passionate about making a difference. Supporting the operation of two children's homes in Sunderland, you'll play a key role in ensuring high standards of care, maintaining Ofsted compliance, and helping children and young people reach their full potential. Working closely with senior management, you'll support staff teams, promote a positive and therapeutic environment, and contribute to the ongoing success and development of both services. Key Responsibilities • Support the day-to-day management of two children's residential homes, • Lead, supervise and develop residential care teams, • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures and Quality Standards, • Promote person-centred, therapeutic and outcome-focused care, • Support children and young people with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs, • Assist with recruitment, training, supervision and performance management of staff, • Support workforce planning, staffing rotas and service delivery, • Contribute to audits, inspections and continuous improvement initiatives, • Build positive relationships with families, social workers and external professionals, • Participate in the management on-call rota, • Maintain accurate records, care plans and compliance documentation, • Support the achievement of positive outcomes for children and young people About You • Minimum two years' experience within a children's residential care setting, • Experience supporting children and young people with autism, learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge, • Strong leadership and team management skills, • Sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures and Children's Homes Regulations, • Experience working within an Ofsted-regulated service, • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), • Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification or willingness to work towards, • Excellent communication and organisational skills, • Compassionate, resilient and committed to delivering outstanding care, • Full UK driving licence What's on Offer • £40,000 per annum, • Permanent, full-time position, • Opportunity to support and influence two children's residential services, • Supportive and values-driven working environment, • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities, • Career progression within a growing organisation, • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people If you're an experienced Deputy Manager looking to take the next step in your career and play a key role across multiple residential services, we'd love to hear from you.
