The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, promoting a culture of safety, and implementing robust policies and procedures to mitigate risks across all areas of operation.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDevelop, implement, and maintain the Health, Safety & Environmental policies and management systems. Ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance reporting.\nConduct regular site inspections and risk assessments for all properties, workplaces, and construction sites, ensuring that all hazards are identified and addressed.\nEnsure compliance with all current legislation and regulations.\nInvestigate all health and safety incidents, near misses, and accidents, producing reports and implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.\nLead on internal and external health and safety audits, ensuring findings are actioned and continuous improvements are made.\nDevelop and deliver health and safety training for employees, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure awareness and compliance.\nEstablish and oversee fire safety procedures, first aid provision, and emergency preparedness plans, ensuring full compliance.\nManage contractor health and safety compliance, ensuring all external service providers adhere to company policies and legal obligations.\nMonitor health and safety performance, producing reports and recommendations for senior management to drive continuous improvement.\nKeep up to date with changes in health and safety legislation, advising leadership on necessary policy updates and best practices.\nDevelop strong relationships with external regulatory bodies, including the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and local authorities, to ensure compliance and best practice alignment.\nPromote a proactive health and safety culture within the organisation, encouraging staff engagement and participation in safety initiatives.About You\n\nNEBOSH Diploma or equivalent\nChartered membership of IOSH / CMIOSH\nProven experience in a Health & Safety management role, ideally within social housing or construction\nStrong understanding of UK H&S legislation and practical application in the workplace.\nExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.\nAbility to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.\nIT literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and health and safety management software.If you are an empathetic and customer focused individual looking for a highly organised, detail-oriented, and commercially aware role then please apply!
