Account Director – Engineering Operations (On-Site)\nLocation: On-site, 5 days per week\nSalary: £80,000–£90,000 + comprehensive package\n\nWe are seeking a highly polished, commercially astute Account Director to lead engineering operations at a large, complex, and highly regulated static site. This is a senior leadership role requiring a strong corporate mindset, exceptional stakeholder engagement, and the ability to drive performance across a multidisciplinary technical team.\n\nThe Role\nAs Account Director, you will hold full responsibility for the strategic and operational delivery of engineering services on-site. You will oversee a team of approximately 20 professionals, including Engineers, Supervisors, Engineering Managers, and a Project Manager. Acting as the primary client interface, you will be accountable for maintaining a strong, professional relationship, ensuring service excellence, and consistently aligning delivery with client expectations and contractual obligations.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Provide visible, authoritative leadership across all engineering functions on-site\n\n * Manage and develop a team of ~20 staff, ensuring high performance, engagement, and accountability\n\n * Act as the senior point of contact for the client, building and maintaining a credible, trusted partnership\n\n * Lead regular client meetings, performance reviews, and strategic discussions\n\n * Proactively manage client expectations, resolve escalations, and ensure high levels of satisfaction\n\n * Own the P&L for the account, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control\n\n * Ensure full compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and corporate governance standards\n\n * Drive operational excellence, service delivery improvements, and innovation initiatives\n\n * Oversee project delivery in partnership with the Project Manager, ensuring timelines and budgets are met\n\n * Implement and maintain robust reporting structures, KPIs, and performance metrics\n\n * Lead on risk management, health & safety, and business continuity planning\n\nRequirements\n\n * Proven experience in a senior account leadership role within engineering, facilities management, or a related technical environment\n\n * Demonstrated experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams in a corporate setting\n\n * Strong track record of direct client engagement and relationship management at a senior level\n\n * Strong commercial acumen with P&L responsibility\n\n * Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills\n\n * Highly structured, process-driven, and comfortable within a formal corporate environment\n\n * Strong understanding of compliance, health & safety, and operational governance\n\n * Degree-qualified or equivalent in an engineering or related discipline (preferred)\n\nPackage\n\n * £80,000–£90,000 base salary\n\n * Comprehensive benefits package (bonus, pension, private healthcare, etc.)\n\nThis role is suited to an individual who thrives in a structured, corporate environment, is confident managing demanding client relationships, and can lead from the front while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and delivery
