EHS Advisor (HV Substation) — Scotland Employer: Designer Group Location: On‑site in Scotland (HV Substation project) Contract: Permanent, full‑time About the role We’re growing and have a new opportunity for an experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor to partner with our project team on an HV substation in Scotland. You’ll champion a proactive safety culture, keep our people and partners safe, and help us raise the bar across the project lifecycle. What you’ll do • Be the go‑to EHS lead on site: provide practical advice, coach supervisors and operatives, and set the tone for “safe by default.”, • Own compliance with CDM 2015, local HSE regs, and company procedures; maintain standards to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001., • Run inspections & audits (plant, equipment, work areas, PTW/LOTO, temporary works interfaces) and track close‑outs., • Investigate incidents and near misses, drive root‑cause fixes, and share learnings across DG sites., • Lead RAMS quality: review/advise on method statements, risk assessments and safe systems of work (incl. office and site tasks)., • Deliver engaging training and toolbox talks, including behavioural‑based safety modules., • Analyse EHS data and trends, prepare clear monthly reports and recommendations., • Coordinate stakeholders—clients, subcontractors, suppliers—fostering a collaborative, right‑first‑time safety culture., • Chair the EHS committee and champion continuous improvement and innovation. What you’ll bring • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) and 3+ years’ site‑based EHS experience., • CSCS/ECS card, Fire Marshal/Warden, full clean driving licence., • Confident with EHS software and Microsoft 365., • Great communicator who can influence on busy construction sites. Great to have (nice‑to‑haves) • TechIOSH membership; Fire Risk Assessor competency., • M&E/electrical or substation/HV environment experience., • First Aid at Work, Mental Health First Aider, Face‑Fit Tester.
