Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical Bias \n Salary: £51,000 + Overtime/Shift Allowance Shift Pattern: 4-on / 4-off Rotating Panama Shift Location: [Insert Location] \n The Role \n We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team within a busy manufacturing environment. \n This is a mechanically biased maintenance role (approximately 70% Mechanical / 30% Electrical), ideal for an engineer with a strong mechanical maintenance background who also has good fundamental electrical knowledge. \n You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of production machinery, ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable and operational. \n Key Responsibilities \n As a Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include: \n\n • Planned and reactive maintenance of production machinery and equipment\n, • Mechanical fault finding, repair and preventative maintenance\n, • Working with chains, belts and bearings\n, • Maintenance of pumps, valves and hydraulic systems\n, • Working with pneumatic systems and conveyors\n, • Maintenance and fault finding on injection moulding machines\n, • Maintenance and fault finding on blow moulding machines\n, • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults\n, • Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives\n, • Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out safely and efficiently\n\n Electrical Skills \n Although the role is mechanically biased, candidates should have a good working knowledge of basic electrical systems, including: \n\n • Sensors\n, • Relays\n, • Drives and inverters\n, • Star/Delta motor systems\n, • Basic electrical wiring and control panels\n, • PLC inputs and outputs\n, • Electrical fault finding\n\n Experience & Qualifications \n We are looking for candidates with: \n\n • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent minimum\n, • Strong mechanical maintenance experience\n, • Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment\n, • Good understanding of electrical maintenance and fault finding\n, • Electrical qualifications are highly desirable\n, • Experience with injection and/or blow moulding machinery would be advantageous\n, • A proactive approach to fault finding and preventative maintenance\n, • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team\n\n Background: Open to candidates from a range of manufacturing and engineering backgrounds, provided they have the relevant maintenance experience and technical skills. \n Training & Progression \n The company places a strong emphasis on employee development and offers: \n\n • Significant training and development budget\n, • Ongoing technical training\n, • Opportunities to develop your engineering skill set\n, • Clear progression opportunities, including the potential to progress into a Senior Engineer position\n\n Engineering Team \n\n • Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager\n, • Engineering team of approximately 15 engineers\n, • Supportive and well-established engineering function\n\n Working Hours & Shift Pattern \n This is a rotating 4-week Panama shift pattern, working 12-hour shifts.
