Team Manager Opportunity – Exeter | Up to £40 per Hour Location: Exeter, Devon Rate: Up to £40.00 per hour Contract: Locum An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Team Manager to lead the Kinship & Special Guardianship Order (SGO) Support and Private Fostering team within Devon Council. This is a key leadership role where you will drive high-quality service delivery and make a lasting difference to children, young people, and families. About the Role As Team Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day management of the SGO Support and Private Fostering teams, ensuring statutory duties are met and that carers and families receive effective, high-quality support. You will lead a team of social workers and family practitioners, promoting best practice and continuous development. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage the SGO Support and Private Fostering teams, • Oversee assessments, support plans, and service delivery, • Ensure high-quality support for kinship carers and fostering arrangements, • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners and social work teams, • Manage budgets and resources effectively, • Provide leadership, mentoring, and professional development to staff About You You will be a confident and motivated leader with strong experience in children’s services, particularly within kinship care, fostering, or special guardianship. You will champion high standards of practice, reflective learning, and a collaborative team culture. Essential Requirements • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration, • Significant experience in children’s services, • Proven leadership and management experience, • Strong knowledge of kinship care, SGO, and private fostering legislation, • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, • Ability to build strong relationships with families and professionals, • Full UK driving licence and access to a car Why This Role?
