Financial Controller Derby | £70,000 Macildowie are actively recruiting for a well-established, global manufacturing business who are seeking a Financial Controller to lead the finance function at one of its key UK sites in Derby. This is a high-impact, site-based role offering strong exposure to operations with a clear career pathway. The Role Reporting to the Director with a functional reporting line to the Group CFO, this role is responsible for leading all aspects of financial control and reporting for a key manufacturing site. You will play a critical role in driving financial performance, improving reporting quality, and partnering closely with operational teams to support decision-making and cost control. This is a hands-on position with significant exposure to manufacturing operations, particularly around costing and performance improvement. Key Responsibilities • Lead the finance function for the site, ensuring strong financial control and accurate reporting, • Deliver monthly management accounts within a tight close timetable, • Own standard costing processes and support cost control initiatives, • Provide commercial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making, • Partner closely with site leadership and operational teams, • Deliver budgets, quarterly forecasts and long-term planning, • Manage working capital and cash flow forecasting, • Support statutory accounts preparation and lead audit processes, • Ensure compliance with VAT, HMRC and Intrastat reporting, • Support the implementation and optimisation of a group ERP system, • Drive continuous improvement in reporting, processes and systemsAbout You, • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), • Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential, • Strong understanding of standard costing and cost control, • Proven experience delivering management accounts and forecasts, • Commercially minded with strong business partnering capability, • Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle or similar preferred), • Advanced Excel skills, • Confident communicator, able to engage with non-finance stakeholders, • Hands-on, proactive and comfortable in a fast-paced environmentWhat’s on Offer, • Salary of £70,000, • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, • 5% matched pension, • Opportunity to play a key role within a global manufacturing group
