We are recruiting for a BD Manager - IP Litigation to join our Marketing team in London. Marketing team - London Our Marketing team helps the firm win and grow the right clients and work. The role will involve the full spectrum of marketing and BD activities for the group, including support on pitches, events, directories, campaigns and thought leadership, and other profile-raising activities both internally and externally, ensuring that best practice is followed in terms of systems, technology and processes. What you will do Market profile, content and campaigns • Manage directories and awards submissions for the group and coordinate associated interviews and follow up, and coordinate client newsletters, internal newsletters, and internal deal alerts., • Working with our Marketing Services team (MST), to manage all logistics and marketing/promotion events, in addition to assessing external event opportunities for the group., • Actively seek opportunities to raise the profile of the practice groups' capabilities and ensure consistent, evidence-based messaging in all market-facing materials. Pitch excellence • Coordinate pitches and proposals, working in conjunction with the central pitch team, pricing and lawyers to create compelling, compliant submissions., • Tailor credentials and case studies to client needs; responsibility for creating and updating marketing collateral., • Support rehearsals and Q&A preparation., • Maintain pipeline hygiene and data completeness; run basic go/no-go checklists. Strategic planning and execution • Contribute to the development of approved business plans and translate into tactical execution., • Track spend and return on investment against activities., • Provide status reports using Dynamics (our CRM system) and pipeline data to inform partner discussions., • Monitor market and client news; summarize implications and feed intelligence into wider marketing activities. Client development • Assist partners, associates and BD colleagues in the management of strategic client relationships and coordinate client targeting efforts., • Work on the development of client plans, contact maps and meeting records, ensuring that Dynamics is populated with high data quality., • Capture client feedback and post-matter insights; log themes and flag opportunities to the senior BD manager., • Assemble client and decision-maker profiles using approved research tools to support cross-selling., • Track coverage, contacts and actions for priority client accounts. AI and technology • Use approved marketing function AI tools, including the function’s agents for designated tasks, in line with the firm’s AI usage policy., • Complete the marketing function’s mandatory AI capability program and develop applied AI skills relevant to the role, and demonstrate progression in applied AI skills through tangible contribution to personal and team output. Collaboration, integration and change • Promote consistent use of firm systems and templates; maintain file hygiene and naming/version standards., • Actively participate in change initiatives; share ideas and help embed new ways of working., • Escalate blockers and propose practical fixes, while adhering to agreed service levels and briefing templates with central teams. Team leadership and development • Support resourcing across competing priorities and time zones., • Contribute to onboarding new team members by sharing best practice for common BD tasks, and support BD training for associates. What you will have • Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Can persuade and influence senior stakeholders., • Proven experience executing business development activities in professional services preferred., • Enthusiasm to develop an in-depth understanding of the global IP litigation practice (in terms of the market, the key players, the competition, and our legal offering). Previous IP, technology or life sciences market experience would be a plus, but is not essential., • Intellectual curiosity about market trends and client needs combined with a proactive instinct to shape business development activities in line with these insights., • Strong project management and stakeholder skills; clear, persuasive writing with a focus on client needs., • Comfortable with data and research; confident using client data management systems (e.g, Dynamics), experience and pipeline systems., • Highly organized, proactive and resilient; strong attention to detail, ability to work to deadlines, and follow-through across multiple priorities., • Strong client focus and ability to work well with busy lawyers while balancing deadlines. About the Role/What We’re Looking For: We’re looking for a Senior Design Engineer who thrives at the intersection of interaction design, front-end engineering, and emerging technologies. You are passionate about collaborating on early-stage ideas and bringing them to life as real, tangible, high-fidelity prototypes, proofs-of-concept, and internal tools that help teams learn faster, make better decisions, and automate manual tasks. In terms of core skill set, you look like a front-end engineer, but you think like a designer. You bring a strong visual and interaction sensibility, paired with pragmatic engineering judgment. You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, self-directing your work, and proactively identifying opportunities where prototyping, tooling, or automation can unlock new possibilities. Your primary focus will be building high-impact prototypes that explore new features and experiences across the Peacock ecosystem, while also creating design tools, Figma plugins, and AI-powered utilities that help our teams work faster, smarter, and with greater confidence. What You’ll Do: Partner closely with designers, product managers, engineers, and user researchers to build prototypes that support design exploration, usability testing, experimentation, and stakeholder alignment Rapidly translate abstract ideas and early concepts into interactive, high-fidelity prototypes across web, mobile, and TV platforms Design and build internal tools, utilities, and Figma plugins that improve design quality, consistency, speed, and scalability Explore and apply AI-driven approaches to design, prototyping, automation, content exploration, and workflow optimization Integrate live or simulated data into prototypes by building or consuming APIs Improve and evolve initial design concepts through iterative prototyping and feedback Build and maintain shared toolkits, frameworks, and codebases that accelerate prototyping across the team Take technical and creative ownership of projects, including starting new frameworks, tools, or experimental codebases from scratch Stay current with industry trends, emerging interaction patterns, and new technologies, and proactively apply them where they create leverage Continuously look for opportunities to improve how the team prototypes, experiments, and collaborates Mentor and support other design engineers, helping raise the bar for craft, technical quality, and impact across the team 5+ years of relevant professional experience in design engineering, front-end engineering, or a related hybrid role Degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or equivalent practical experience Portfolio of relevant work and code samples demonstrating strong interaction design sensibility, technical execution, and polished final outcomes Strong experience using generative AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Augment, Cursor, Antigravity, etc.) to assist with coding and design-related tasks. Strong experience working with design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite Proven experience contributing to software projects in a team environment, including peer code reviews, version control, and shared coding standards Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain ideas to technical and non-technical audiences Strong experience building and/or consuming APIs and working with live or structured data Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with designers, engineers, product managers, and user researchers Comfort working autonomously in ambiguous problem spaces, from concept through execution Solid understanding of interaction design principles, user experience best practices, and modern design workflows Experience presenting and demoing work to peers, cross-functional partners, and leadership Experience integrating AI capabilities into prototypes, internal tools, or workflows (e.g., content generation, summarization, analysis, automation) Curiosity and technical fluency around AI models, APIs, and limitations, with an emphasis on practical application over theory Experience developing Figma plugins and working with the Figma API Experience working with video content or media-rich interfaces Familiarity with modern frameworks and languages such as TypeScript, Next.js, or LightningJS Experience with platforms and tools such as Node.js, GraphQL, GitHub, AWS, Azure, GCP, Cloudflare, Firebase, Mixpanel, Contentful, Vercel, Xcode, and Apache • Experience with React Native, Swift, and SwiftUI, • Experience with web and cloud infrastructure and deployment workflows, • Experience building tools or experiences for international or global audiences, • Familiarity with video streaming, TV-based platforms, or large-scale consumer applications, • Experience developing mobile applications or cross-platform experiences, • Prior experience in experimentation-heavy, innovation-focused, or prototyping-centered teams Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule As part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
