Job DescriptionJob Title: General Laborer Job Description This position is within a global leader in packaging lifecycle solutions, working on the 55-gallon steel barrel line. The role involves forming and seam welding metal barrels, as well as using chain conveyors, automatic cutters, and burners to remove paint from used barrels. This is a highly physical role that requires working Monday to Thursday from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with no interview required. Starting pay begins at $20/hr, increasing to $23/hr after 60 days, and is part of the Local 120 Union. Responsibilities • Operate chain conveyors, automatic cutters, and burners to process barrels., • Load, maneuver, and handle metal barrels, drums, and plastic containers., • Operate welding and seam forming equipment., • Conduct quality control through attention to detail., • Maintain production speed and accuracy under pressure., • Follow industrial safety standards and handle hazardous materials safely., • Troubleshoot mechanical issues as they arise.Essential Skills, • General labor and production experience., • Forklift and machine operation skills., • Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting., • Basic math and measurement skills., • Ability to work in varying temperatures and noisy environments., • Reliability and punctuality., • Adaptability to repetitive tasks., • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with chain conveyors, automatic cutters, and burners., • Knowledge of metal fabrication processes., • Previous experience in unionized manufacturing environments., • Strong problem-solving skills for equipment issues.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
