Job DescriptionAssembler Job Description This role focuses on full-cycle assembly and fabrication of electrical panels and enclosures for textile machinery, with a strong emphasis on custom, metric-based work and meticulous attention to detail. You will build, wire, and label panel boxes, harnesses, and junction boxes from scratch, mount components to machines, and support troubleshooting of electrical issues in a clean, climate-controlled panel shop. Responsibilities • Perform full-cycle assembly of electrical panels and enclosures, starting from opening the packaged enclosure to handing off completed units to the shipping department., • Work from electrical schematics, blueprints, and bills of materials to gather supplies, plan layout, and accurately install components on large metal plates of varying sizes., • Build and wire panel boxes, harnesses, and junction boxes from scratch, ensuring proper alignment, wire color matching, stripping, crimping, and secure terminations., • Mount completed panels and components onto spinning and nonwoven machinery and hook up panel boxes to the machines as required., • Use hand and power tools, including screwdrivers, drills, and saws, to secure components, create holes in panels, and cut channels according to design specifications., • Apply and position labels, stickers, and wire markers inside panel doors and on components with high precision so that all markings are straight, legible, and accurate., • Read and interpret metric-based measurements and, where applicable, German-style electrical drawings and schematics to complete custom orders., • Troubleshoot electrical and assembly issues that arise during panel build or machine hookup, making necessary adjustments to ensure proper function., • Handle work involving voltages up to 575 volts while following appropriate safety practices and procedures., • Lift and move components and materials up to 50 lbs on occasion as part of the assembly and installation process., • Collaborate with a small team of panel builders, anticipating where help is needed and supporting teammates to maintain production flow., • Follow established training plans, starting with standard spinning assembly, and actively seek guidance from experienced team members to build competencies., • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and adhere to shop policies, including limited phone usage while working., • Consistently prioritize quality over quantity, ensuring that each panel meets high standards of craftsmanship and reliability. Essential Skills • Proven experience using hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, drills, and saws for assembly, drilling, tapping, and fabrication work., • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to complete panel builds and machine hookups., • Hands-on experience with wiring tasks, including wire color alignment, stripping, crimping, and terminating connections., • Knowledge of small electrical components and their proper installation within panels and junction boxes., • Comfort working with metric measurements and performing work where everything is specified in the metric system., • Capability to work with electrical systems up to 575 volts while observing safety practices., • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion as part of assembly and installation duties., • Strong attention to detail and meticulous approach to panel layout, wiring, and labeling., • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate in a small shop environment and support others as needed., • Willingness to learn new processes and techniques and to be coached by experienced team members., • Good work tenure and reliability, demonstrating consistent attendance and commitment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working from German electrical drawings or schematics is a plus., • Familiarity with metric-based tape measures and millimeter measurements is preferred., • Experience in electrical assembly, panel building, panel wiring, or related panel fabrication work., • Ability to troubleshoot issues in panel boxes, harnesses, junction boxes, and machine hookups., • Comfort working in a structured environment with limited phone usage during work hours., • Openness to starting on standard spinning assembly and progressing to more complex custom builds through on-the-job training. Work Environment The role is based in a clean, climate-controlled panel shop with a small, close-knit team where each person’s contribution directly impacts production. The environment emphasizes careful, custom work using metric measurements for all builds. You will work primarily at a dedicated workstation with electrical schematics, large metal plates, and bills of materials, using hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, drills, and saws. The position operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime available until 5:00 p.m. as needed. Shop policies favor limited to no phone usage while working to maintain focus and productivity, and the overall atmosphere supports collaboration, learning, and high-quality output. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
