Job Summary: The Project Engineer will be responsible for providing operational support on assigned construction projects to ensure completion within established budget, time, and quality standards. Responsibilities include preparing, soliciting, monitoring, and coordinating project documentation and administrative functions to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of project records. Working under general supervision, the Project Engineer will make decisions based on established procedures and support measurable project objectives. This role will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Project Executives, Estimating, Accounting, Business Development, Field Personnel, and other support staff, as well as external stakeholders including owners, architects, engineers, trade contractors, and vendors. Location: This position will be at a Hagerman Job Site. This is not a remote position. Project Engineer Key Responsibilities: • Assist with project start-up activities, including preparing submittal logs, contracts, purchase orders, budgets, bid documents, buyouts, and project schedules., • Create, maintain, and update project documentation and reporting logs such as daily reports, RFIs, change events, as-builts, agendas, and meeting minutes to ensure accuracy and timely communication., • Review project turnover documents, specifications, drawings, contracts, and jobsite logistics; collaborate with project teams, vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to coordinate procurement of materials, labor, and equipment. Participate in project meetings to monitor performance, shop drawing requirements, and material deliveries., • Support the Project Manager by assisting with cost audits, monitoring labor, material, and overhead expenses, and helping ensure projects remain within budget., • Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment by demonstrating flexibility, anticipating obstacles, and adapting quickly to changing priorities. Utilize the Project Management Procedures Manual and related forms in alignment with company policy., • Participate in project closeout to ensure timely completion, including preparation of punch lists, securing warranties and guarantees, compiling O&M manuals, and coordinating with owners and architects., • Promote and reinforce company safety policies, ensuring compliance with the Corporate Health and Safety Management Program across all project activities., • Perform additional project management support tasks as assigned. Qualifications: • High School diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of work experience with at least 1 year in a construction-related role (internships or craft professional experience accepted). A BA/BS/AS or accredited degree may substitute for up to 4 years of experience., • Strong verbal, written, presentation, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word and Excel) and basic knowledge of construction/project management software such as Procore (preferred), Sage, Asta/MS Project, Revit, and Bluebeam., • Familiarity with contract administration processes, including RFIs, schedules of values, monthly billings, bar chart schedules (with predecessors/successors, constraints, float, and lags), and AIA contracts (A101, A121, A133, A401).
