Job DescriptionJob Title: Mechanical Assembler Job Description This role focuses on the mechanical assembly of engine cowlings, casings, and sheet metal components for aerospace applications. You will read and interpret blueprints and standard operating procedures, use a variety of hand and power tools, and perform basic quality checks such as torque verification and electrical bond checks. The position is ideal for someone with assembly experience on large parts who enjoys working in a structured, team-oriented manufacturing environment that follows lean and continuous improvement principles. Responsibilities • Assemble engine cowlings, casings, and sheet metal components according to blueprints, schematics, and standard operating procedures., • Read and interpret blueprints and SOPs to identify correct parts, assembly sequences, and specifications., • Use hand tools, power tools, drills, and torque tools to assemble mechanical components safely and accurately., • Perform basic quality verification practices, including checking torque settings, conducting electrical bond checks, and verifying dimensional measurements., • Work with large components and assemblies, ensuring proper handling, alignment, and fit-up., • Follow established aerospace manufacturing standards and, when applicable, adhere to customer-specific specifications., • Support continuous improvement activities by following Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and other process improvement guidelines on the production floor., • Collaborate closely with team members in a tight-knit, team-oriented environment to meet production goals and quality standards., • Follow all health and safety guidelines and use tools and equipment in accordance with safety procedures., • Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with 5S principles.Essential Skills, • 2–3 years of mechanical assembly experience, preferably working with large parts., • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; aerospace experience is highly preferred., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and standard operating procedures., • Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, drills, and torque tools for mechanical assembly., • Experience working with large mechanical components or structures., • Basic quality verification skills, including torque settings, electrical bond checks, and dimensional measurements., • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and adhere to established processes and specifications., • Commitment to following all health and safety guidelines in a manufacturing environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment is highly preferred., • Experience with commercial or military aircraft engines is a strong plus., • Familiarity with Honeywell specifications is a plus., • Background in automotive or other manufacturing industries is acceptable., • Exposure to or experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices., • Prior experience in structured environments such as air force, army, or marines can be beneficial., • Ability to train on a day shift schedule for the first few weeks of employment.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in an aerospace manufacturing environment located on-site near a major airport. The facility operates under Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles, with a strong focus on organization, efficiency, and quality. You will work in a very team-oriented, tight-knit culture where collaboration and mutual support are highly valued. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and you must be able to train on the day shift for the first few weeks. The work involves using hand tools, power tools, drills, and torque tools around large mechanical components in a production setting, following all established health and safety guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
